Sunny Sunday P.M. Check-in

How is everyone feeling this p.m.? I feel really great, myself, despite the old you know who bothering me a week too early! I ended up taking a 70 minute hike to the beautiful wooded trail near my home (used to drive over there but that was pre-car break-in). I sure have missed the sights and scents of the pine, oak, cedar, etc. forest so will have to do that more often. I will call that my "creation appreciation" workout. Have done very well on eating (for once! LOL!).

Such a strange thing I read today - there are 2 books on the bestseller list by John Eldredge (one is called "Wild at Heart" I think) & I skimmed thru them as a church publication had him on the cover. His books are expecially for men, but I'm sure they would benefit all. Anyway, his mentor who also co-authored his first book "The Sacred Romance", was a man named Brent Curtis. My former minister's name is Brent Curtis. I keep wondering if this was the same person (he died in a fall on a mountain climbing expedition). So strange . . .

Hope everyone has had a blessed Sunday.

I had a good Sunday. I took a great 4.4 mile walk through one of my favorite neighborhoods and came back with a little better attitude than when I left. I did accompany DH on his trip into see his parents. DD had 3 friends from school visiting her this afternoon. They took a trip to the beach and I made them some penne ala vodka for dinner and I had made some flourless peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. They were only 45 calories per cookie and they must be good because DS gave compliments to the chef! High praise indeed! Took nice walk with Otto and had a nice conversation with my friend who had just returned from dropping her daughter (her one and only child) at school in NYC. She was handling it quite well!
