I see we stilldon't have our new headers for the board (grumble, grumble). Guess we'll just have to start here. Have you put together your plan to help put us up on top of the Diet and Fitness Board? I'm doing the 6 day split so I can get in cardio too. So, the plan is to do lower body and 45 minutes (later) of power walk.

What's your workout plan for the day?

Top 3 weekly goals?

***1. weight training-6 days this week

2. cardio 6 days this week

3. Journal every day

OK...we're off. Have a great Labor Day!

Hey, it's still summer for a while at my house!!! Calendar says until 9/23, but I'll push longer if possible. Once October is here, it's kind of hard to pretend it's still summer even if the weather is hot. There are too many other signs that it's fall. The Walmart here already has Halloween costumes out and is stocking the shelves with Christmas decorations. I hate rushing the seasons. You can't enjoy one holiday, because the next one or two are being pushed ahead. Oh, well, come on down Patty! We still have some beach weekends left unless "Fabian" doesn't swing northeast out to sea, as we hope.

My better-late-than-never Challenge post -- Had a hard time working in working out today with Tim and Rob home and different places to be. I did get in a lot of mall walking off-and-on for a few hours. Calves and under my derriere are a little sore from all the walking w/ resistance yesterday.

I had only a bowl of cottage cheese and water for breakfast before I rushed to Tim's office to meet with his partner to learn some new software. Didn't have all the columns I needed, so we cut it short.

Came home to pick Rob up, ran a few errands, and then headed to the mall to check out the sales. Everything I liked was either not on sale or still too expensive marked down, so I just looked. It was a madhouse out there anyway. We have a new place in the food court called Saladworks with all kinds of salads, or you can have them make one with whatever ingredients you want in it. I got one called a Newport salad with greens, shrimp, tuna, egg, cheese, and cucumber in it with balsamic vinegar dressing.

I did well with my eating until we went to my parents' house for dinner. The grilled chicken and fresh green beans were great, but Mom made some delicious homemade macaroni and cheese and a blueberry pie, which I didn't pass up. At least I had only 1 helping. Time had FOUR of the macaroni and cheese!!

My goals:

1. Really focus on the thought that losing weight and getting fit is what I REALLY want, and if I'm not doing it, WHY am I not doing it? Also working on other mental aspects of emotional eating, not exercising, making excuses, etc., to get in the right frame of mind to be successful "this time."

2. Do my basic plus workout and walk every day. Possibly, get back into Pilates this week, but may have to wait until next week because of a number of things already scheduled.

3. Better nutrition -- reduce (not eliminate) the bad carbs and get my water intake up.
