Did you ever do something SO stupid.....

that you just can't believe yourself?! Well, today I only worked till noon. Dh took me out for lunch at Eberts and Gerberts. I went home and waited while the water softener guy fixed a leak in one of the pipes. When he was done, I went upstairs and worked out. As I was doing so I was looking around the workout room and thought "Dang it! I've got to get started on this room and what better time than now cause I can't use the water" (softener guy set the cycle to go for an hour and a half) SO....away I went. Theres this BIG OLD dresser that we don't want, is falling apart, and is taking up space in there so I went at it. It use to be ds's so I had alot of old things to go through. I filled two plastic tubs FULL of his things and stacked them on top of each other. When I was done I had to remove the old dresser which was actually very easy. But I also had to move the tubs into another room. WELL...this turned out to NOT be such an easy task. I placed my hands in the wrong area of the tub (by the lid and not the handle). These tubs were VERY heavy and my fingers slipped and my nails (which by-the-way are not long at all cause I hate long nails) got caught on the lid and....well....you can pretty much guess what happened next. My nails broke halfway down my finger, halfway across, ripping my skin underneath and bled like crazy! The pain wasn't so bad at first but by the time I got downstairs I thought I was going to faint. And I am one that can handle LOTS of pain! (I've had three tattoo's AND want more and I also thought child birth was easy) So I think my neighbors heard a side of me that they have never heard before. My fingers were throbbing to the point of intense pain. I downed 4 ibeprofren and thought "well, I can't let my half done job just sit" and off I went upstairs to finish. Now how stupid is all that? BUT I finished what I set out to do and now the room is ready for paint and new carpet. One task done, and two to go. Hopefully I won't pull such a stupid stunt next time.

OUCH! Tweety, are you alright? How do they feel this morning? I guess we all have done that kind of thing and ripped our nail and it sure hurts like he**. I have long nails, have them done every 2 weeks and well I know how much they hurt when I hit them wrong. I hope you are better and I am proud that you went back into the room and finished the task at hand. But next time ask for help.

OwwweeeOwwweee, Tweets! Hope the pain is less today. I broke my thumbnail last week doing something dopey and it hurt like the blazes, but it was one nail. And mine aren't long, either. I can't imagine doing it to a handful all at once.

I think you should take today off!

Oh, you poor dear! I think I rather take surgery on my foot before ripping my nails off. OUCH!!

Good job though on getting the workout room cleaned up. You must feel really good about that. Have you decided on paint and carpet colors?

Try to have a safe and nice weekend.
