about favorite signs of winter.Made me think about all the things I love about the weather getting cooler.Of course that made me think of apple pie. Also loved the post about planning ahead for holidays and the food involved.Of course that made me think of pumpkin pie.Do you see a trend here????I definitely need to get a plan and stick with it.

So, what you are saying is that the changes in seasons are the changes in types of pies????

Patty - Repeat after me, "Eat the apple, not the pie".

On the pumpkin pie, I have nothing to offer if it doesn't involve pumpkin-cream filled jelly roll, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin pancakes/waffles, or pumpkin mousse. Unless it involves sweet potatoes. Which opens up a whole other can of worms....

Just carve the pumpkin and roast the seeds.

Personally, I make muffins and bread from it, but I didn't want to be a bad influence on the young one. ;-)

Thank you,you know how impressionable I am!!Did I ever tell you all how I used to think pumkin pies were made? You know it's been so long ago I can't quite remember which part of the pumpkin you use.I just know it was the wrong part and DH laughed for a long time when I said it.Mostly I stick with our old family recipe....Mrs. Smith.

Don't they taste amazing that way? It's almost like you don't need chocolate after having them like that.

Don't need chocolate?! Who said that??!!

Pie for spring - Strawberry-Rhubarb. I never ever ate it as a kid - couldn't stand the thought of rhubarb. Ate it for the first time this spring - now I have another thing to be careful around. It was delicious.

While we're adding major calories....how about plenty of butter. Its kind of like having a sweet potato pie but...probably worse.
