Ditto here Tweety! You popped out too quick. What happened to your dd and how is she? I also wanted to ask how your fingers were healing. Please let us know.
Thanks ladies....sorry I left so abruptly last night but, well, I've got alot on my mind and I just wanted to be near the phone. Dd had pains in her chest on Tuesday when she finished running and they slowly went away. Yesterday she got them again in the afternoon and they were so severe that the ER nurse told her to come in. They did xrays and a bunch of tests and ruled out the worst. Her release papers sound like they diagnosed her with some type of acid reflux decease. They want her to see her regular doctor here so I'm hoping to get her in on the 19th when she comes home. Thats the same day I see the doctor in another town so I may reschedule mine so I can be with her. Shes feeling about the same today, maybe a bit better but the pain is still there and she says it hurts in her chest to swallow. Shes been under alot of stress lately and because she is alot like me, I can really relate to how shes feeling. Its something that I never could cure but I've learned to deal with and found ways to cope when I go through it so I'm hoping I can teach her the same. I work till noon tomorrow and then I'm taking off and going over there to visit for the afternoon. Its a 2 hour drive so that will give us enough time to chat and have dinner and maybe a little shopping. Sometimes a person just needs their mommy, ya know? I cry out for mine alot in life but mine isn't so receptive. Guess its how she was brought up. But I'm determined to be there for my kids no matter what and in all situations. Dd loves school so that helps. Shes even considering taking summer school to make up credits she missed so she can graduate. We'll see. Time...time is the cure for everything. It tells all. I, now on the other hand, have been VERY busy with another aspect of my life. My sister and I have been on a search for our fathers REAL dad and we've come so close. His father is dead and has been for sometime, but we are searching for family that he has never met. He has 3 sisters that he just found out about a couple of years ago. We got the name, address, and phone # of a cousin he's never met and we are going to contact her tomorrow. We hope she will be receptive to us. We don't think anyone on that side of the family knows about my father. Anyway, we are hoping to get info, pictures, names, #'s, etc. to give to dad as a surprise for his birthday next month. He has no idea that we are doing this. He tried once to locate family and our brother tried once and both times they were unsuccessful. This is the closest anyone has ever gotten. My sister, I and dh (who is also helping) are going to call ourselves the Three Amigo PI's or something like that....heeheehee. Anyway, gotta run. Need to get my gear ready for the 30 mile Petroglyph bike ride we are doing first thing Saturday morning. If I'm leaving right after work tomorrow I won't have any time to do that then. Busy busy busy. And its all to do with family....my favorite things! Please say a prayer for dd and another for our search. We would really appreciate it.
Glad to hear your DD's problem is only acid reflux. I know that's painful, as my older sister suffers with it, but so much better than heart problems or something like that. It can be treated easily with medicine and diet.
Sure hope you can locate your real grandfather. That would be so cool. Keep us posted on your progress.
I understand your concerns for dd and yes sometimes they just need their mommies. Give her a hug and let her know you are there for her. Its something she will not forget. Hope she feels better. Have they talked about the "purple pill" for the reflux. Hubby has it but refuses to see the doc on a reg basis, stupid. Especially with all this new meds out there. About your search, its wonderful and I wish you luck. Let us know how you make out.
Tweety, I never make chat so I miss some things. I hope your DD feels better soon and I'm really glad it appears the pain she was feeling is something treatable. I hope she can let some of the stress she's feeling go, also. Is she receptive to starting a yoga practice?
Praying that those unknown family members are open to all of you and wishing you luck in your search. Have a relaxing weekend - that bike ride sounds awesome.
