How's your day going

Mine has been pretty crazy.MIL had to admitted into a hospital about an hour away. Not quite sure what's up yet, possibly an infection.Lots of concern because she is diabetic and getting very close to needing dialysis(sp).I remember years ago she was very overweight and never watched her diet. She told me she would rather eat anything she wanted and die from that than have to restrict her food.Since then she has changed her way of thinking, changed her diet and lost weight. If only she would have done it before so much damage was done.It is truly sad to see a woman who was once so vibrant unable to do anything.Really gave me alot to think about.I grabbed a quick chance to run earlier.Went out in the drizzle and enjoyed it.Just felt great to be alive and healthy enough to get out there moving.

So today I'm thinking of all the things I really appreciate like good health and the women here who keep me focused in that direction.Probably haven't said it lately but thanks guys for everything.

I'm sorry you've had such a tough day. But there's some good in it in that you should be proud of doing what you can to take care of your health instead of letting it spiral out of control. I'm sorry your MIL is going through this; I bet she wishes she had made some changes sooner.

My day is going well. I'm reasonably happy with how I've eaten. Went to the farmer's market at Copley Square and bought a gorgeous juicy tomato, and a little packet called a Picnic for lunch. The Picnic comes in a little brown bag and includes sourdough bread, goat cheese with herbs from the farm of the woman who makes up this little picnic, and a mini-box of raisins. I didn't want the sourdough, but found another stand run by a company that makes bread worth going off a thousand diets for, and bought an Italian olive roll. Yummm. All that was missing was a sunny hillside, a bottle of wine, and my DH.

I've even had four, 12-oz glasses of water so far today. I'm way ahead of myself on water intake compared with the rest of the week.

Hope the rest of the day in CL is under control.

Patty, so sorry to hear about your MIL. I know my FIL's illness has certainly been an eye opener. He's been retired for about 23 years and sat around and has done absolutely nothing. He has no hobbies, no interests and I'm sure that's played some part in his condition. It was a very upsetting visit with him last night. Hope everything turns out OK for your MIL

My day hasn't gone so well. No exercise this AM since I needed to be out the door so early. Had the bone density test done should have the results back next week. Ended up leaving the place and not being able to find my car keys ended up leaving them on the chair I was sitting in the waiting room. It was one of the those Fridays where I couldn't wait for 5PM. I was able to leave my captivity a few minutes early which was nice. Eating has been just mindless. I'm in one of those moods where nothing really appeals to me so I'm just eating a little bit of everything. Think my hormones are back in the wrong orbit. I'll just have to try to redirect them!
