so much more to do. Which tells me....I'm not staying on top of things. I got the pantry cleaned out the laundry room/closet cleaned out and organized, kitchen done, floors, etc. Now its on to the closet in my bathroom. You know...all that stuff I have to have. And then, on to the closet in the spare room/office....both are nightmares. I can't ever seem to keep either straight. I set up a chart for things that need to be done during the week, bi-monthly, monthly, etc. Now....I just gotta do it. Anyone else managing the household today?

I'm not sure whether I'm managing the household or the household is managing me! I've know what needs to be done but having a little problem with being focused and staying with one project until completion before I'm on to something else and that leaves me feeling crazed-(now there's a new concept for me)! I was just up in our TV room which has a huge storage closet and with no attic space you can imagine what's in there! At the moment if you opened either side of the sliding door you would literally need to stand out of the way before something falls out at you! I'm cleaned it out numerous times but it just won't stay cleaned up. But knowing the AC will need to be stored in there soon-everything is going to come out and not just reorganized but throw it out! Told DH today I'm ready to put everything without a purpose out on the curb with a big sign that says Free-take what you can use! I've got one more week of vacation left and seriously thinking of using a few days of it to get this place in order once and for all-that and to repaint our bedroom and kitchen!

Think I hear the call of several appliances calling me so back to managing the household!

Good luck with your projects Phyllis!

I realized the other night how badly things have gotten away from me here.I threw out tons of magazines.Still alot more to do.I swear, by the time I do the chickens, cook some meals, do laundry and try to get a workout in I don't have the time or the inclination to do more housework.I get dirty when I do the chickens, sweaty when I exercise and usually end up taking a minimum of 3 showers a day.Wish hot water would shrink me!!

I watched a makeover show today and was completely depressed. There were two women and I have both their faults!!One they didn't like her hair and one they wanted out of jeans.I'm getting my hair done this week and want something different. I want to cut it but the friend who does it says if I'm not sure I should leave it alone for now. We're going to do something with the color. She says she knows exactly what she wants to do with it.I'm more than alittle anxious because of something she did to her hair awhile back.I told her I liked it and I did on HER not ME!!

I'm having a similar problem. Everytime I complete something, I see something else I need to do and immediately add it to the "to do" list. I think I'm gaining though!

Hey there you are not alone. Heck I was home all summer and I got nothing done as I had planned. With school starting in a week, I will be crazed again with doing my laundry late in the afternoon, and trying to keep up with the general straightening of the house. Never mind the cleaning of the house. Looks like Friday's will be my "cleaning day" and "running around day". Someplace we have to fit the the time for ourselves. I sometimes wish I could have a Martha Stewart just visit with me for a few days and tell me what I need to do to get everything in order.

You do have a busy schedule. I think with long hair you can atleast pile it on top of your head while you're working. Color is always a great way to make a change. I love getting my hair professionally colored. It always seems to last longer. You might want to emphasize that you liked it on HER..lol

My house looks as though Isabel has already come through here. Think I wore out my Hoover Floormate and really need to replace it.

You're making the rest of us look bad, Phyllis! One of my New Year's resolutions was to organize all my cabinets. Here it is September, and I've done about 1/3 of the kitchen. With Halloween costumes to be made, planning a weekend beach trip and studying to keep up my certificate hours... not sure if I'll finish them all in 3-1/2 more months... and *you're* doing the closets!

But to answer your question, yes, I did a little household management today. Paid bills, threw out old catalogs, sorted through the multiple stacks on the breakfast table. I took a break to run and just got back, and all I have left to do is file or find a home for the things I want to keep.

Mine REALLY looks like the Texas tornado hit it as I've had to work 3 weekends straight! Am so looking forward to next weekend so that I may finally get some cleaning done! Managing the household is something I never have time for, unfortunately. I wouldn't know what to do if I had a filing system I actually understood. Bill paying was hit & miss last week & that was due to just being plain busy at work & my forgetfulness.

If you can get your place in order plus your bedroom and kitchen painted in part of a week, you are truely a WONDER WOMAN!! I admire your determination and spunk.

My house is calling me all of the time. The closets are begging to be cleaned out and stuff thrown away! I think I'll do it when it's blizzarding this winter.
