My sneaking around days should be over----but they're not! I'm having one of those very INSECURE times in my life and I thought shopping would help a bit. I bought a gown as a goal dress to wear to the Valentine's Day ball (next year LOL). It's about four sizes smaller than I wore a few years ago...and uh...I definitely need a lot of workouts between now and then, but the thing fit. OK---instead of focusing on it fitting, I focused on my butt and my upstairs and my....

So--as I ran errands I decided to stop at the shoe store, needed and bought new cross-trainers, fell in love and also bought some high heeled black knee length boots. Shopping therapy.

I tucked them away in the trunk of the car, NOT that Eric says a word about my shopping but I thought I could sneak them in on Monday. He offered to go to the grocery store to get things for a real homemade meal (haven't been a grocery store since the last week of August).

I just went to the garage and saw he took my car...hurrrumph. Wait til he tries to get the groceries in the trunk of the car...and I wonder if he'll say anything :(.

Well...since I need to work on my rear end I better stop sitting at the computer! I'm off...with my shopping tail between my legs.

So---do you ever shop and leave things in the car? Sneak em in the house? Have plastic on them so they rememble dry cleaning? Just curious...

That sounds like a little trick I do (I forgot to last year around this time and managed to gain weight), in trying on my clothes that "fit" every other day or so to keep me motivated to eat right. It's exciting as they start getting looser and looser. I am so paranoid about gaining weight this fall/winter that I am trying to lose a little before Thanksgiving. I'm right at my goal weight from this spring, so I just need to tow the line & even try to lose a little more. It is so hard for me to resist holiday food, so I thought I'd have a little deficit (if at all possible) this year. There are 2 and a half more months to go so I should have no problem. Of course, I don't plan to eat anything I want during the holidays, but it is nice to taste test most of the goodies at the parties & open houses I attend!

Glad your dress fits! I have one in my closet that I haven't been able to wear for a long time. I keep wondering if I ever will again....

I never hide shopping from anyone but my MIL. She is so judgemental about what I buy and how much I pay for things. Drives me nuts. The only thing I'm ever tempted to hide is that new workout gear that I just had to have. DH just gives me this look...you know the one that says, "Did you really need that?" I just tell him to mind his own business.

Deb,

My answer is YES and I don't know why. When DH bought me the SUV last year I found myself in a bit of a panic when I went shopping and came out to the vehicle and realized I no longer had a trunk that would "hide" my purchases until I was ready to show them to DH. It's silly because I use my card to shop and pay one bill at the end of the month so DH always knows when I shop.

I took an extended lunch hour on Friday to hit a red apple sale at Foleys and I stopped by the house and hung the purchases in the closet before I went back to work and DH arrived home from his work. Yesterday I showed him what I'd bought. I don't understand my logic but it seems to be deep rooted.

Oh, yeah ..!

I hate it, too. I want to "avoid" stuff as long as possible. Never mind I bring it half the income. Gads! We are still in the dark ages, aren't we??
