I've not done too well this week in keeping up the exercise or cutting back on snacking... However, I just ran my second-ever 4 mile run, with some sprints even, and it was easier than the first time I ran 4 miles just this past Wednesday. I'm taking a cool down break, having some water and standing up while typing on the computer (if I sit down, the muscles in my thighs will tighten up), and as soon as I get offline I'll do some UB weight work and suck in my abs.

I've upped my mileage running because I'm contemplating running in the Governor's Cup 8K race November 1st. 8K, 5 miles. My hairstylist, who recently resumed running, is signing up and is talking me into it. I'd wanted to start races (my goal is to finish, and I don't care if I come in last - my stylist and I are on the same page with that!), though I'd hoped to do a 5K first which I know I could do, but it looks like the 8K will be the next opportunity. With running 3x a week, do y'all think I can get ready? Any training advice from our regular runners? I'd want to run the course at least once before the race but it's not where I'd feel secure running on my own (The Cus would probably forbid me to go running downtown by myself anyway), and I don't have anyone to watch Allison even if it were feasible.
