Yes, it did. We've been saving for this for a while and actually got two pieces. We got a recumbent bike for DH and an elliptical/cross training machine for me. At least, that is what the book says it is called. I call it an elliptical machine.
We got quite a workout getting the equipment downstairs. We have an area that used to be called the "game area" when the kids were home. TV, Nintendo, ping pong table, etc. Now it's turned into the exercise area. Note that I said downstairs. The truck came and the delivery man and I pushed these packages to the end of the truck where he used an end gate that lifts down to unload them. Then we pushed them into the garage. Big boxes. I couldn't believe how big they were! I wasn't sure how we were going to get them downstairs.....We ended up taking the boxes apart, leaving the bottom cardboard under the machines and slid them foot by foot into the house and down the stairs. That took us quite some time and believe me, it was a workout in itself. I was wringing wet from sweat and really huffing and puffing by the time we got them downstairs.
Then it took quite some time to get the elliptical machine together. Thankfully it wasn't all apart but we had to put the front together, the LED monitor on, etc. About an hour's worth of putting together and my DH works on farm machinery all the time so he's good at this kind of stuff. The recumbent bike only took about 30 minutes to get put together....maybe not even that much.
DH is downstairs trying out the bike right now. I used the elliptical for the first time this morning. It has more programs on it than I've ever used on anything. This morning I used the target heart rate program. It gets easier or harder to keep you in your heart rate....you wear a monitor. I was sweating when the time was over. There are other workouts and I am anxious to try them. I was planning on trying another one this afternoon but I'm not sure I want to get all sweated up again because I am going to a play tonight. And I'm really feeling lazy. I might go mess again, though. Who knows what will happen.
I've slowly been accumulating workout equipment over the last few years. I almost have myself a little gym downstairs now. It is really nice considering I live out in the midle of nowhere. And I'm kind of a 'loner' when it comes to exercise. Don't get me wrong, I love to visit but I am not a real exerciser in front of strangers. Maybe it's a hold over from when I was a kid. I have never been real 'athletic' and if you'd have told me 20 years ago that I would own this much equipment and use it so much, I would have laughed you out of the house. I was the kid that was the slowest in all of the races. I hated stuff like that. Now, I'm probably the only person I know around here who exercises as much as I do. What a switch. But I'm not into competition. I just like to do it to feel good and keep myself in shape.
I do like the equipment and I think I will really enjoy it. My next 'mission' is to make the room more like a gym with mirrors, etc. I'll watch for cheapies to come on sale.
Wow Nancy you sound like you could open your own gym. I think is great that you have the space for this equipment and that you have slowly purchased it and added to your collection. Another great thing is that hubby is into using it too. Let us know how they all work, and your results.
