Good morning everyone-

Glad to hear that all seems ok Patty. How about the rest of you on the east coast...everything ok?

Did anyone watch Survivor last night? I flipped through the channel and started watching it around 7:30 so I missed the first part. Actually, it was pretty good. Surprised me.

Today's plans are kind of up in the air. This afternoon when I'm done working, I'll head out to Focus on the Family. Oliver North is doing a book signing and I want to get one for my dad. Doing some Yoga with a client this afternoon for my workout. It's been a while!

I tried the Prep H on the eyes last night Rhonda...it works.

What is everyone doing today?

Phyllis

Good morning Phyllis!

I must have missed something good to find out later that you're using Prep H on someone's eyes. I'm not sure I want to know...LoL.

Today, for some reason, I was wide awake at 5am. Guess I finally got caught up on my sleep deficit. So, today is shopping and errands day. Need to get some new walking shoes and I think ShopKo is having a Nike sale. Still have another week at home and I'm starting to feel like I might be able to get something accomplished other than holding down the mattress. So I'm getting out my 15-minute project list and tackling a few of those today.

I did watch the last little bit of Survivor last night while waiting for CSI to come on. Those reality shows kind of irritate me a little. It never ceases to amaze me what people will do for money. But it does look like they might be having a little fun too.

Hope everyone has a goo day.

Phyllis, I'm going to have to buy some of that Prep. H! With the headcold or allergies or whatever it is I've had, my eyes look like I've got a white grape under each one when I get up!! I did print out that list for future reference.

I got the lawn mowed yesterday afternoon, the car washed, groceries bought, other household things done, and bought a new Hoover Floormate. I used the other one so much that I think I burned the motor up! Got that put together last night, so this afternoon I will start on the floors. I have a lunch meeting at The Tiger Bay Club today, which is a political forum for Republicans and Democrats. We have a congressman speaking. It's the first time I've been, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like.

Several women are trying to get me to join a Red Hat Society. We have 32 chapters in just Jacksonville!! Is that big where any of you live? I'm also going to start helping with the Justice Coalition which helps victims of crimes and the Guard Ad Litem Program, which provides guardians and some supplies for children in the foster care system. Each foster child is supposed to have a guardian. There are 4,000 children in our system and only 250 guardians. I won't actually be a guardian, but will help with fundraisers and recruiting.

I've got the sprinklers going already this morning and had them running last night. Seems it's always feast or famine with the weather.

Hope everyone in Isabel's way is safe and without damage. Hopefully, the worst is over for everyone on the board and their families. I haven't heard from my relatives in MD since earlier yesterday. May have to give them a call if Mom hasn't either.

Have a good day!

Rhonda

Good Morning,

Not feeling particulary fit this morning. I'm working on my 3rd day of being slug and really have to get my energy and motivation back although I think part of it is from being a slug! Bit of a vicious cycle.

Did have a bit of a scary experience last night. Went upstairs to watch TV last night and I got this knife like pain in my back which went right through to the front of my chest. It would ease up and disappear as I walked around and as soon as I sat down it came back again. DH was about to put me in the car and take me to the ER when it disappeared as fast as it came on. Felt very much like a gall bladder attack except I don't have one any more. Was a bit scary!

Anyway it's the last day of the work week and I need to get to the grocery store as about the only thing left in the house is milk that doesn't smell too good and the end pieces of bread that nobody wants to eat!

The storm didn't hit us as hard as they had anticipated so we were very fortunate. Hope everyone else that was affected or had family that was affected are safe.

Hope you all have a Fit and Fabulous Friday!

Good morning, friends....

Izzy fizzled as she approached New England. So far just occasional big wind gusts, and fine drizzle. Southern coast of Rhode Island, Connecticut, and probably Cape Cod are getting or will get big surf and the western part of Massachusetts will probably see some heavy rain, but for the rest of us, it's weather as usual.

Friday workout - the one I didn't do Thursday. I finished too late and I didn't want to joggle around a garlicky meal.

I'm still eating properly for SBD and not craving the Phase I illegal carbs one bit. The ultimate test was the football pool donuts Tuesday. The winner of last week's football pool brought in 3 DOZEN of those awesome, old-fashioned, hand-cut donuts I'm always going on and on about. They were placed about 10 steps from my office. I didn't even look at them. I'm amazed - AF is knocking on the door, and that usually brings on yen for all things salty/crunchy. I don't know if there's been any progress on the scale, and I'm not going near it until my 2 weeks on Phase I are done. All I can say is that I've not been hungry all week.

"The Red Hat Society" is kind of like the social arm of what FOF would be - chapters of women over 50 who gather strictly for social occasions, fun, laughs, etc. All of them wear red hats for these gatherings, regardless of the rest of their ensemble. Although I'm certain there are issues or causes that each chapter may embrace, mirth prevails - the whole goal is just to have fun, find common ground, and make sure that fabulous 50-year-old women are not forgotten. Do a search on Google and see if any news articles pop up - I recently saw one on a chapter in New England and thought they've definitely got the right idea about life.

Happy Friday - Have a great day!

Donna

It is a social organization for women over 50 (originally), but can be for under 50 as well. It is based on that poem about "when I am an old woman I shall wear purple..." It is strictly for fun and started out with women getting together to have teas. Woman over 50 must wear purple and red hats; women under 50 must wear lavendar and pink hats (They're called pinkies). Those are the only rules other than there are no rules. The groups are a real hoot, and the head is the "queen" not the president. One group rented a fire engine and rode on it in the Gator Bowl Parade just for the fun of it. There is all kinds of jewelry, hats, clothing, etc., springing up for them. Here's a link:

Morning, today is kind of a semi relaxing day. I do not want any stress. I start back at school on Monday so today I want to keep low key. Since I went to Curves yesterday I am going to go upstairs and do my walk away the pounds 2 mile tape or walk outside. Still windy here but the fresh air might do me some good. I need to go pay my cable bill this afternoon, or no cable service, which means no computer. Not good! Other then that just general house work for me.

Oh, yes, we have one! I went to one of our local "tea rooms" and there was a sea of red hats and blue suits! Believe you me, all of the suits were the same shade of blue, too! I guess all of the ladies shopped with each other to match! Funny! I thought they looked gorgeous! They said they have the best time when they are together.

Glad this work week is over!!!! Endless meetings & my head is pounding. Hope everyone weathered Isabel ok. I was worried about that & woke up the past 2 nights worrying about that hurricane's damages.

Hoping everyone has a great weekend. I plan to have a relaxing one & maybe, just maybe I might get some cardio in to get rid of the work stress.
