Have you guys seen today's show?

Man. I was really surprised at how he is going about this. Not so sure I agree.

Thoughts?

I didn't see it, fill me in. I'd be interested to hear his approach.

I'm watching parts of it. I think they all knew what to expect before they signed up. Dr. Phil is definitely a tough love kind of guy. It's likely that these people have been babied and spoon fed way too long. Nothing could get them to turn it around. It's intervention and probably for most....a last ditch effort. They've tried it all, done it all and it hasn't worked. Hopefully, this will.

I wish I'd seen it. Sounds good! Phyllis, tonight on Hannity and Combs, David Limbaugh is supposed to be on talking about his book "Persectution." I want to remember to watch it, because I have the book to read.

I guess what concerned me is that he took these 13 people to participate in his weight loss program, grabbed them and took them to a Hollywood mansion (I'm liking that part, for sure), and told them only 8 would really be participating in his weight loss program and 5 would be eliminated. He had them doing things like the first group that woke up early the first morning got a healthy breakfast and a "treat"...a tour of Hollywood. The second group that got up had to clean up the mess the first group left for them. The whole thing is way too much like "reality tv" for me. Which I don't mind, other than Dr. Phil has fallen into what everyone else is doing. Add this on top of Dr. Phil's dieting snacks and pills and I'm really disappointed in him.

Would he scare me straight and get me back on the road to healthy body weight??? Heck yes!

I don't think he is so terribly evil, though, that he will allow the five that are eliminated to be totally thrown back out without some help. As the show progressed, you can already see a few that will be part of the five. Right away, three were trouble makers who weren't really serious about the program.

Fortunately, Dr. Phil is making the decision on his own as to who is out and not bringing in Simon, Paula and the Big Dawg.

Sassy.

Rhonda-

I watched it last night. Did you? I didn't think they gave him much time to state his case. Also, Colmes kept blabbering about the same thing over and over and really didn't let him answer the 1 point that Colmes kept repeating over and over.

Also, thought it was interesting that everything seems to be linked to Hilary Clinton...setting up others so that they don't win to pave the way for herself. Typical Clinton style :-)

I watched some of it today, not much.I saw him tell one girl he would come or send someone over to get her lazy a** up to exercise. If Phil told me that on a pms day he might be in for a surprise. Then I watched where the group was eating a meal fixed by some chef.He told them they may not always like what they are eating but it would be good for them. That doesn't sound like something people will stick with.I'm not sure how I feel about Phil any more.I'm bothered by his supplements and things. On the other hand if it helps anyone , who am I to say anything.

Did I tell you all that one day I was watching Phil last season and got mad at him?I sent him an email telling him to get real.I think that was day 9 of 10 days straight rain.Phill never replied...

I'm not surprised that you would tell Dr. Phil that, Patty-cakes. Wish I had thought of it!

I'm just sort of disillusioned by Dr. Phil and his spin machine. Threats and intimidation might work for some people but...wait...it's something I haven't tried before. Maybe I should give it ago. But I did notice that there wasn't anyone there who just needed to lose 15-25 pounds. Hey, we have needs, too! We need to be put up in a Hollywood mansion for 5 days at the whim of Dr. Phil, too. Patty, I think you need to write him another e-mail and tell him exactly how we feel! I'll support ya!

I answered this this morning, so I either didn't actually post it or the board didn't like what I said and deleted it. ;-) I agree that they didn't give David Limbaugh enough time and Colmes interrupted too much. It was hard to learn very much about the book, but I can't wait to read it.

I'm not at all surprised at Hilary's actions. She and Slick Willie are like a cancer with their self-centered, destructive ways. I saw on NewsMax that their former aide, Dick Morris, reported they'd had some of the Democratic fat cats up for a meeting and told them not to give to other candidates "in case Hilary changes her mind next year." Now, wouldn't that be a surprise?! Unfortunately, he is coming to town soon for some big Edward Waters College football game. We'd like to picket the way the liberals do whenever a conservative makes an appearance. My friend said she'd like hers to say, "Thanks for bringing o**l s*x to the breakfast table on the lips of my first grader!"
