Thoughts from "What Women Want"

I took a break from applying for jobs last night and caught What Women Want with Mel Gibson. *pant* *drool*

Anyway, to get back to my original thought, there was a scene that caught my attention. He is missing the love of his life, pacing, wanting to see her, not quite happy with his world, and he goes to the refrigerator, opens the door, almost grabs something, then closes the door, turns and says "she's not in there".

Made me think of the times I have turned to food in order to deal with something else in my life. (stress, anger, lonliness, happiness, what-have-you) I thought it was quite insightful that that was actually written into the script. I have seen the movie maybe three times and never caught it before.

Little *thinking deep thoughts a lot lately*

Little-

I've seen the movie but I didn't remember that part. Yes, I've done that way too many times. That was actually a pretty good point to add in the movie. I was just thinking about that movie the other day....have to dig it out of the archives for the weekend.

It's amazing what we think we'll find in the refrigerator, isn't it? Been there, done that way too often. Thanks for pointing that out. Loved the movie!

Never saw the movie, but I love the line. When that lightbulb goes on after we open the refrigerator door, maybe that's the moment to pause and think about whether that pie is going to fill a real hunger or if it's something else we're hankering after.

Thanks for the lightbulb (light bulb, light-bulb) moment, Little!
