Hi everyone! I'm looking for a health or fitness magazine geared toward middle-aged women. I used to read Fitness Magazine, but got discouraged with the pictures and articles for 20 or 30-something year olds. Any suggestions? What fitness or health magazines do you all read?

I rarely by fitness magazines anymore. It seems like its just the same stuff re-hashed over and over. I do like Prevention magazine, More, O and Cooking Light. They all have a little bit on exercise and general health.

Although the women in the pictures are younger than us, the same exercises apply. I think when we're over 40, we are more interested in a more rounded approach to health. When your very young (in most cases) you just care about the outward appearance. We still care about our appearance but, our priorities have changed.

I just received Health Magazine in the mail today. That's another one I like.

"more" is for women over 40 and is my favorite magazine. The new issue of "Health" came today, and it's a good one too. I see the new one has an article about The South Beach Diet -- what works and what doesn't, so I'm looking forward to seeing their take on it. I like some of the things in "Prevention" too, but I'm a little disenchanted since I know that some of their stuff is based on who's writing their monthly columns or supporting them behind the scenes.

The newest issue of "First" magazine that I see at checkout at the grocery store has an article about overcoming carb cravings, but it's actually about the South Beach Diet too.

Have to agree on the "Health" magazine Phyllis! I subscribed after reading a copy at the hospital while my ds was having a minor procedure. It is one of my favourite mags when it comes to fitness and healthy living. Big thumbs up!

Thank you for your suggestions! I've never heard of "More" before, so I'll be sure to look for it. Also, it's been years since I picked up "Prevention" and "Health", that I've forgotten about them. Thanks again, I'll have fun for a couple of months, while I decide which one(s) to subscribe to.
