PS -- When we ask God to bless America, I don't think that means we're asking Him to exclude others. We're just specifically asking Him to bless us the same way you would ask God to bless or protect certain people in your prayers. It doesn't mean you don't want Him to bless other people too.

I respect your opinion Rhonda and I don't want to start an arguement. My point is only that I feel its a very selfish statement and no matter the religion, in my eyes and heart I believe that just because there are those in other countries that are lunatics doesn't mean that everyone over there is like that. Just like in America, we have our lunatics but I still think God should bless them. I'm not here to judge only to do the Lords work as best I can.

I have no desire to argue either. I was just expressing my opinion. As I said, I think just because we ask God to bless us doesn't mean that we're asking Him not to bless others too. He can bless everyone. I just may not make a personal request for it every time I sing about our country.

Rhonda, I did not say I didn't like the song. As a matter of fact, I said I did like it. The only thing I expressed was my dislike for how they used that "slogan" once the war began. We could both go back and forth with our opinions, trying to explain ourselves, and do it till we are blue in the face. But I truly do understand how you feel. I am proud to be an American but I guess I just get so emotional about all people and like my children always tell me....I'm looking for the perfect world and its not out there. I still believe it is and with God on my side, I will find it! I'm sorry I said anything. But its my opinion and I guess I should learn to keep my opinions to myself.

Don't be sorry you expressed your opinion. That's what the board is here for. All of us should be able to express our opinions without a problem even when they're different. It doesn't mean we're arguing or upset. We're just voicing our opinions. It doesn't bother me at all. What a boring world it would be if everyone was programmed like a robot to think alike all the time.
