happy about it. Went for my blood draw to check on the potassium level but of course to get my copay worth I had to go through the usual weigh in and bp reading. Well BP was back up to 130/92. I had such a great reading 2 weeks ago and now it's back up again. Just won't stabalize. I know the week started off on a bad note but I've really been trying to do all the good things to get things straight but apparently I'm doing something wrong or something is just not working!

That has to be so discouraging.I know how hard you're working at this.I hope it stabalizes soon. Hang in there.Really admire how hard you're working to do all the right things.

I cam completely sympathize with you. I have high blood pressure and either I must do all those good things to keep it down/stable or go on medication. It seems that at the local drug store, it’s fine and then when it’s taken at the doctor’s office, it goes up again. Out of frustration, I feel like screaming and other times I want to cry. Hang in there and I’ll do the same.

I can sympathize, Susan. It took a while for mine to stabilize, too. I have a couple of ideas, if you'll indulge me. Assuming the reading was done at the doctor's office - ever heard of "white coat syndrome"? Sounds silly, but I believe it's very real. I have my BP reading taken twice - once at the beginning of the appointment and once at the end; at the end, it's almost always a full 5 points lower on both the top and bottom numbers. Another time, the nurse took it using the measuring unit (can't spell it) that's mounted on the examining room wall and it was way out of line; she tried it with a portable unit before the doctor came in, and it was normal - turns out the fit of the cuff before it's pumped can make a difference.

Just some ideas. Hope it starts to improve for you - the frustration can be enough to make you steam especially if you've been doing all the right things....
