Had a great lunch with my sister today. We went to a place that has homemade desserts.I was a good girl and did not order any.My sister had to get back to work and ordered a slice of peanutbutter pie to go.They brought it to eat there. What could I do???I had to help her eat it.It was so good!!I've never had that before. It had whipped cream on top and was drizzled with chocolate. As if I don't already love enough kinds of pie.

I have a great peanut butter pie recipe from a teahouse I used to go to back when I was pregnant with Erin (28 years ago). It's very rich! I don't drizzle chocolate on top, but probably should. Good ideas can still be improved! I'll be glad to print the recipe if you'd like it.

Peanut Butter Pie Recipe --

1 cup 10X sugar

3 eggs, separated

2/3 cup sugar

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup cornstarch

2 cups milk, scalded

2 Tbsp. butter

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

9" pie shell, baked according to directions for custard pies

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Blend together 10X sugar and peanut butter until it is a coarse crumbly mixture in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks until fluffy. Combine sugar, salt, & cornstarch. Beat into egg yolks. Beat in hot milk gradually. Cook over hot water until thick and smooth, stirring constantly (I just use a saucepan and stir it constantly). Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla to egg yolk mixture. Cover bottom of pie shell with 2/3 of peanut butter mix. Pour in the custard. In a small bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff. Spread on top of filling from outer edges to center to prevent weeping. Sprinkle remaining peanut butter mix on top of meringue. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Refrigerate well. Serve.

Mmmmmmm! Sounds like a Reeses Peanutbutter Cup Pie! Life is too short not to have special treats now and then. I'm going to be making Chocolate Philadelphia Cream Cheese Fudge for my neighbors whom helped us lift our fallen Juniper Tree and don't you know that I absolutely must do 1-3 "Test Tastes" before giving it to them. ;^)

I adore peanut butter. And I love peanut butter cookies. But I don't like anything else with peanut butter in it. And don't you DARE get any peanut butter near my chocolate!

If you like custard, I have a feeling you'd like this. It's absolutely addictive!

This is not the thing to post on a fitness board but my sister and I have planned a day around choc. peanutbutter ice cream.I've never had it but she says it is incredible. There is a place in H'burg that has great ice cream and this is a big flavor for them. They only have it a few times a year.I think we're going to do some shopping to so the day will be more practical :)

I love the ice cream with little peanut butter cups in it. Of course, there's not too many kinds of ice cream I don't like.
