a set of jumper cables at a red-neck fish fry! But I thought I'd check in just to let you know I've not fallen off the face of the earth.

I had a Southern Living At Home Party last week, prepped for that (successful show, I must say). Hosted playgroup the week before. Had to make snacks for choir which took an afternoon. Then the field trip I'd planned for our church's Mom's Group got cancelled, and I was really hurrying to get the word out and get something else lined up. I'm making two Halloween costumes, and totally redesigning the Family Finances site (only five months after my self-set deadline!) which is *really* taking up a ton of time. Have our flex accounts to look at (deciding on the new one, need to still get reimbursements from the old one), made plans to go to the fair, went to a Homemade Gourmet party, etc. etc. Allison started running a fever last week, and is coughing this week, so we're not making it to the beach as I'd hoped we would - just as well because I only researched places to stay so far.

I've done lousy on exercising and eating, but I hope to be able to restart later this week. Heck I've got a race to run in on November 1st. At least any muscle cramps I have are gone. Hey, does playing hopscotch with a preschooler count towards exercising?!

Anyway, I'm scarce, but still thinking of my buds here!

What kind of costumes are you making?? I miss those days. I used to love to help stud rhinestones on my niece's dance costumes too. I'm a sucker for rhinestones and bugle beads!

We were going to go the Glamour Girl route, but when she saw me looking at the Statue of Liberty costume and realized that we could *both* be the Statue, that's what she settled on. (Yes, I often dress up for Halloween.) I've made my costume already from a pattern, but to save about $7.50, I decided to scale my pattern down to fit her. So far it's worked.

There's even sewing directions for the Statue's crown and torch. Making them, too!

Hope Allison gets better soon! I know she must be sad about being so sick when you had the beach planned.

How neat about your Southern Living at Home party! I'm glad it was a success and maybe (if you get a chance, busy lady) you might email me on tips for getting people to commit to attending your party at: katsonnet@aol.com.

I'm a consultant for SLAH but haven't had alot of time to do anything with it, although I love the products. I'd love to replace my Dillard's income with Southern Living at Home income. My sponsor lives way up in Michigan, but I'm trying to attend someone's party around Longview. Hopefully, my sponsor can help me locate a consultant who would be willing to let me watch. As a former Realtor, I never depended on people I know to get my listings - I pounded the pavement! I'll have to do that with this too in order to get customers. I miss real estate sales, but now that I'm a single mom, I need the stability of a regular salary/benefits.

Good luck with getting ready for your marathon - you'll do great!

P.S. I love that jumper cable/busy analogy!

Those sound so cool!! I think it's great that you both dress up and that you're able to make the costumes yourself. The quality is probably a lot better than the ones you would buy, and they cost less. Hope you can post some pictures in costume.

I dress up too, but I'm a ghoulish thing in a hooded black robe, gloves, etc., and a "Scream" mask for when I hand out candy. I take the mask off when little kids come up. We decorate a lot, and I'm eyeing a new cauldron that has greenish vapor rising from it. My other one seems kind of tame compared to that. Our witch is really neat.
