I'm sure many a good husband comes to be as a result of following the example of a good wife, Phyllis. Johnny has a great wife, I think. I'll have to get that book out and read it.

My workout was so enjoyable yesterday, I am going to try to repeat it today. After work, I plan on hitting my trail again. The fall wildflowers are in bloom and the leaves are beginning to turn. I love the scent of the trees and for a minute, I felt like I was walking down that road lined with trees in "Gone With the Wind" (on the way to Ashley's home). This trail is so beautiful! One thing though, there were 2 other great scents that kind of messed with my mind: charcoal grilling and herbs, onions and meat cooking! The scents from the different residences along the way made me so hungry! After today's workout, I will make ds some dinner, take him to get his haircut, and drop him off at the Junior Varsity football game. I have lots of things to do tonite, so I will pass on the game.

I'm thankful that God loves me even with all of my faults. I'm thankful that I have a son to love. I'm thankful that God gives me the opportunities to learn and do new things in life.

Gotta' get movin'! Have to take the car in to get the oxygen sensor put in - will do some studying while I wait. I love having my reading time.

Have a great day!

Good Morning ladies.

Phyllis...I thought I warned yout abou the Power! It's an amazing book and amazing things happen...you ain't seen nothin' yet!

So, I don't think I was on the board once yesterday. I refuse to be so busy that I can't get on the board. Unfortunately, I didn't get a workout in yesterday either. Two days in a row. Today I am taking some me time this morning and getting my workout in. Cardio. To the lake and back. It is only 44 degrees this morning and absolutely gorgeous out! I'll be wearing a hat and gloves for my walk...my favorite way to walk. I should hit the weights today...we'll see.

Thankful Thursday. Hm. (1) I am thankful that I still have both of my parents. Dear friend's mom passed away yesterday afternoon. They were so close. Her father passed away a couple of months ago, unexpectedly. We knew her mom would go quickly after that. The two of them were, without a doubt, the strongest Christians I have ever known. They were also fun, loving and always treated my husband and I like one of their own. I will miss them both and my heart is breaking for our friend, Susan. (2) I am thankful that my oldest DS has teachers who genuinely care. He's not turning his work in and I've gotten a call from a teacher who thinks the world of him but is still giving him an F right now. She says he is so bright and knows his stuff...but just hasn't turned anything in. Needless to say he got a good butt-chewing from his mother and is grounded. (3) I'm thankful that I found the book, The Power of a Praying Wife. It changed my marriage. It will change Phyllis's marriage.

That's it ladies. Hope to check in later.

Miss you guys.

Sassy, I think it must be a "boy" thing - my ds, too, is so bright & scores high on those state tests, but he's not an academic. I've had to cajole, threaten, etc. to keep him at mostly A's and B's. He has changed since he began adolescence. Good luck with your ds & it's wonderful he has caring teachers.

Good Morning to y'all

It is a beautiful fall day here, had to do a mad scramble this morning to find something to wear from the fall collection!

Took an extra 1/2 hour under the covers this morning and did a 30 minute cardio and I've been jumping since then. Have my dishwasher humming and the crock pot simmering with chicken soup! Never made soup in the crock pot so we'll see how that turns out! But it is perfect weather for a pot of soup.

15 minute project will be preparing dinner menus for next week and preparing a list for tomorrow's after 5 mad dash through the grocery store.

I'm so thankful for so many things. A special piece of mail came my way this week which just made me smile. 2. Otto-my faithful friend who makes me crazy at times (sort of like another kid)but just makes me smile! 3. The beautiful fall weather which has given me a renewed sense of energy!

Patty-enjoy your day out with your sister and yes we have similar diet plans-Pumpkin is definetly a vegetable-therefore it just has to be good for you and also remember whipped cream contains calcium-a very important diet supplement!

1. I'm thankful that I'm eating better and have "re-lost" 4 lbs. this week.

2. Thankful for a fanstastic family -- loving parents, terrific sisters, and a husband and son who keep me laughing and feeling loved.

3. Thankful for stimulating activities that are exciting to me and give me a chance to make a bit of a difference.

Had a healthy breakfast of lowfat V-8 with *green stuff* and 2 hardboiled eggs. Need to get more water down. STILL don't have those newsletters back from the printer, so I'm praying that I will get a call any minute to run pick them up. Getting them finished and out will be probably eight 15-minute projects.

The sun is trying to come out, and it's about 70 here, so I'm pretty happy about the weather.

Good morning, everyone!

Busybusybusy couple of days here - won't be around much. Workout today - either a full one or cardio and UB. Gotta do something, and it might be very late. At least I'll be keyed up enough to blow off some leftover steam from work.

Thankful for:

1) The arrival of fall. To a lot of people it means death or the end of another wonderful season; to me, it's bright with promise.

2) My DH, as always - a gentle, calming influence on me. Even if he stays up too late watching baseball.

3) A job. I don't always love it, but it helps us have a comfortable life, keep a roof over our heads and food on the table (ok, in the fridge - I gotta get it on the table), and contribute to causes we believe in.

Phyllis - right on about your comment on changing youself before expecting a change in others. Something I have to keep working on...

Have a great day, everyone! Will check in when I can - all you late nighters, maybe I'll see you in IMs.

Good morning all!

Yesterday’s “workout” was cleaning up after the kitchen ceramic flooring was completed. I think the newness of that inspired me to start rearranging other stuff, which then lead to more cleaning and before I knew it, my day was spent. Today’s workout will be abs, upper body weights, and spinning. In honesty, I’m not sure how long I’ll last doing spinning but will do my best…

My Thankful 3:

1. Thankful that during a time of layoffs and jobs being farmed-out to other countries, my dh’s job appears to be “safe” (knock-on-wood).

2. The beauty of Fall its colorful leaves, snugly sweater-weather, and the smell of warm cider with cinnamon sticks.

3. Personal conversations with God, answered prayers, and a new felt calmness within me.

Have a good day!

Sigh...Phyllis, you are a fantastic wife. Don't be so hard on yourself.

No workout for me today. Struggling with a new and improved chest cold today. Will this never end? I'm sick of being sick.

15-minutes: I'm going to get started on that nap right after work.

Thankfuls:

1. Thankful that I have a good job.

2. Thankful for the roof over my head.

3. Thankful for my loving parents, even if they are acting like children sometimes. (Long story involving an old diamond ring and my father's insensitive nature.)
