email from Southern Living Cookbooks today. Where's the salivating icon?? The picture won't reproduce, but you should see it (or maybe you shouldn't)! ;-) I'd just have to leave out the coffee granules.

Print version

(text only)

1 1/4 cups chocolate wafer crumbs

1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar

3 large eggs

1 (12-ounce) package semisweet

chocolate morsels, melted

1/2 cup all purpose flour

2 teaspoons instant coffee granules

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped pecans

Garnishes: vanilla ice cream, fudge topping

1. Combine chocolate crumbs and 1/3 cup melted butter, mixing well. Press into bottom and up sides of an ungreased 9" pieplate. Bake at 350° for 6 to 8 minutes.

2. Beat 1/2 cup butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add brown sugar, beating well. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in melted chocolate and next 4 ingredients. Pour filling into prepared crust. Bake at 375° for 25 minutes; cool completely on a wire rack. Garnish, with ice cream and chocolate syrup on top, if desired. Yield: 1 (9") pie.

The only way I learned about it was by typing slxrp into a msg, and trying to post. I have no idea what the other words are, but it could be fun trying to find out. Maybe somebody could start a message with a few words, and see if they are allowed or not, then we could each add a few words, making sure that we post sanitized versions of the disallowed words so we all can know what they are.

It's so weird! What's wrong with the word "sl*rp?" Can you not write Slurpee (the frozen drink) either? Maybe we can send an email to one of the CM's or something just to satisfy our curiosity.

I typed a message a few weeks ago and it wouldn't go thru because of unacceptable language.I checked and checked and couldn't find any!
