Zipped myself into oblivion today....

We had an agenda....lunch at Nordstroms (such a fun ladies' lunch place), then several stops in the mall. Mistake #1. I bought the wedding gift first, two Arthur Court trays--if you're not familiar with Arthur Court, it's pewter (I think), and it's heavy. Car was so far away I thought I'd carry it. The salesperson did a stunning job of wrapping it and I didn't want to jostle it around so I was very careful--which made it VERY hard to do any serious shopping.

We were, however, able to ohh and ahh over the shoes at Nordstroms. SUCH cute shoes. Sales guy wanted to help us but didn't realize we were just two women that always just oh and ah at shoes, with no $$ to buy :o).

Since I booked romance packages for all the three nights of Eric's birthday fantasy trip (well my fantasy hotel trip but his birthday), I thought I needed to update my granny flannels for our weekend. Went to Victoria Secret (while still trying to balance the trays) and picked a bra and panty set (very French looking), and beautiful burgundy nightie type thing (reminds me of something from the old glamorous movies..). NO mood to try it on, so my friend held everything up on me and we guessed that it could fit.

Then..got my sister's bday gift..was stuck for ideas and FLASH..she loves to work out. The cute Nike outfit I picked out for her at BonMacys was about the only Nike outfit not on sale :(. Why is that??? Bought it anyway, it would perk me right up into workoutland.

Now about the zipper....

While balancing the trays, the lingerie, the bday gift.....I also was trying on leather jackets at BON. They're all hooked up to some kind of sensor like a leash. I was getting really warm while trying to zip one up and try it on while hooked to 20 other coats. And missed the zipper catch and the thing got stuck. It was such a cool leather jacket. Zipper started on the left hip and zipped across towards the top right shoulder. BUT..I'm not buying any jacket that gets stuck like that :o). Had my friend trying to help me, then the sales lady, others making suggestions, then we decided to just lift it off of me. Hurrrumph.

So..didn't buy the jacket! :o)

Sounds like a great day to me! Last year we finally got a Nordstrom’s but really miss Macy’s. I am very familiar with Arthur Court and would add just by carrying the package you also lifted weights today! LOL!

I LOVE lunch at Nordstrom's, especially the one at Pentagon City -- really good salads and cookies. We always have to pick up cookies to take home to my BIL, when my sister, niece, and I shop up there. I got a cool backpack purse at the one in downtown San Diego a few years ago, but I've forgotten the name of the mall.

When you started talking about the zipper, I was afraid you were going to say that you'd zipped your skin. I was already flinching before I got to the end. Glad that wasn't the case. Being stuck in the jacket was bad enough. When is your romantic trip? Give us more details.
