agenda today? I'm heading out to take Rob and a friend to the beach, so they can surf. Don't know how many more weekends we'll have that we can do that.

Have a relaxing day everybody!

I have a quiet day at home planned.DH is leaving later today and will be gone a couple of days.Did you ever have a nagging feeling and couldn't put your finger on what it was???I got like that yesterday.Probably just a mid cycle hormone hit.

I plan to do some weights later today and maybe a run too.Enjoy your day everyone.

Happy Sunday!

This morning walked 2 miles with dh around a nearby lake. Saw a family of turtles lined up on a log floating on the lake – it was so cute! Going out to lunch and depending on where we go, might do a little shopping at Home Depot or Coldwater Creek. Later, plan to pre-make lunch meals to be microwaved, maybe put up some Halloween decorations in the front yard since the rest of my neighborhood is looking very festive.

You all have a great day!

Good morning, everyone!

Well, it's a gorgeous fall day in New England, and the Red Sox are in the playoffs. That means today is a constant switcheroo with the remot between baseball and Patriots football. Both are on at 1 pm est and will probably be over by 4. Then I'll drag DH out for a walk in the breezy sunshine and do a LB weight workout when we get back. Then dinner - grilled salmon and broccoli for me, and add potato or rice for him. Laundry going all day - darn towels.....

Apple picking yesterday was a fun day - and would have been more fun if the weather had continued to cooperate. Just as the tractor pulled up to bring everyone out to the orchard, the heavens opened up. DH and I were unprepared for rain - thought it was supposed to hold out until late afternoon - so we stayed back at the farm store/gift shop and looked at all the doodads and gourmet foods while my DS, BIL, and the kids went off to pick in the rain and mud; they were better prepared with foul weather gear than we were. They came back wet, and smiling - they had a blast. Naturally, by then, the rain had stopped. The farm has a hot dog/burger/apple crisp stand set up right by the pick-up/drop-off area, all of it under tents so it's pretty protected, so the grown-ups all had apple crisp while the kids wrapped their hands around steamed hot dogs and warm buns and hot chocolate. I'm pleased that I followed the "three tastes rule" - three spoons of apple crisp, then I went back into the store to get away from the aroma that was permeating the air. Yummmmyyyy...

We all came back to my house for a while to dry off wet clothes and shoes, did arts and crafts and computer games while the guys took short naps, then went out to the new gourmet haven for 4- and 6-year-olds - TGI Fridays. The only thing left on the table was a lonely piece of nachos - everyone was starved from the day in the fresh air. Even I was able to find something on the menu to eat and enjoy, and doubled up on veggies in place of potatoes.

Gotta love this South Beach thing. Three days into Phase II - added oatmeal and a slice of excellent whole grain bread back into my diet, and lost another 1/2 lb. Happy, happy!

Hope you all have a super-duper Sunday, everyone!

Good Morning everyone!

Well, today I am going to watch my Oakland A's play. Got to admire them, they are a young group of guys that are not yet paid the BIG buck of the more famous players. It is a beautiful warm day here, so I will go for a walk this afternoon or maybe treadmill if I am too lazy and they a trip to Costco. Oh what an exciting life I lead!

Have a great day!

Hi Nancy. We have about a month to go before we begin to harvest. We have hired out to have it done in the past but do it ourselves now.Good and bad to both ways. The year we hired out we had to wait for them to get to us.But as you know the upkeep on the equipment is unbelieveable.I'm really sorry to hear about the $3000.00 worth of repairs you all had to go thru. Glad you were able to get in the fields quickly at least. We are inbetween flocks right now, they come back on Thursday. We're busy trying to get the houses ready plus DH has alot of work coming at him from the other job. This week he'll be in another area asessing crop damage.WE're trying to get cattle to market also.I would love to get rid of all the cattle by winter.I've told DH I just think we're juggling too much and need to start looking at ways to farm more cost effectively. If there is such a thing!Things have changed so much around here in the past few years.Dh and I both used to always be home working. Now it's a constant juggling act.Plus now that I'm in CL more I have thoughts and ideas of my own.Dh doesn't always handle that very well.I told him he can't expect me to always agree with his ideas. Is that ever a problem for you guys?Hope things go well for you all.

I'm trying to live with Passion, Phyllis, with a capital "P"! I passionately went thru my filing cabinet and threw out some old stuff - filled up a plastic garbage bag full! Enough of that, though! I hate that chore & will continue to "chuck" another day off! Now it's off to do a powerwalk in the rain! I love to walk in the rain, actually.

P.S. I didn't go to SS today as I just couldn't cover up AF's damage to my chin sufficiently & I'm one of those people who hate going anywhere with pimples! WHEN will these things go away? A coworker at Dillard's said to put neosporin on, but my pimples are stubborn. They are big and right on my chinny chin chin! So embarrassing, even with my coverup on them. Anyway, I watched Hallmark Channel's America at Worship and am still reading "The Purpose Driven Life", so I was able to get in my devotional. The Purpose book is so wonderful, and one that I will want to read over and over. A classic, for sure!

Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday!
