I almost got stranded out on a sandbar while searching. I was so busy looking down that I wasn't paying as much attention to the tide. I had to wade through some fairly rough knee deep water to get back to shore. It wouldn't have been a problem except I had on Rob's watch and was holding my car keys with a remote opener on them!
The weather was gorgeous, mid-80's, nice breeze, and all the clouds were inland. In the morning I meandered looking for the teeth, but in the afternoon I got in some good brisk walking in the opposite direction. It's a great place to walk, because you can see many of the enormous mansions that you can't see from A1A. Some look like hotels! They look like what you see on The Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. I also saw hoof prints in the sand. Rob has been riding on the beach, but I never have. Sometime I'd like to do that. There's a stable down that way that takes you down on the beach to ride. That has to be such a neat feeling!
I ate really bad on the way home, but it could have been worse... We went through McDonald's and got double cheeseburger meals. I gave my fries to the boys and ate an Oreo Blizzard instead. I am so bad!! If I'd eaten a decent breakfast I wouldn't have given in to temptation so much. I might have gotten just the blizzard. ;-)
Hope everyone else's day is going well.

Now you can put a ring in each one, run a piece of leather through it and set up your stand on the beach to sell authenic shark tooth necklaces.

It's funny how looking for the teeth is kind of addictive after you find the first one. This must be what it's like for people who gamble. You win just enough to keep you playing. You lose and lose and suddenly you're buoyed by a little win again. That's what happened with the sharks' teeth today. There are just an infinite number of tiny periwinkle and other shells, so sometimes you think you're going to go cross-eyed looking, and it's overwhelming. Then I'd spot one, or a couple times maybe three small ones in an area and be all psyched again to keep looking.
Had a funny thing happen for the first time today. The ocean floor is much more uneven there than in St. Augustine, so it made some nice tidal pools when the tide went out. I decided to lie down in one propped on my elbows. I felt little flutters and noticed that tiny little silvery white fish were swimming between my arms, over my legs, and all around me. Every so often they'd nibble at my arms and legs!! Usually they're very skittish. I don't know if there was something in the sunscreen I had on or what. It was kind of citrusy smelling, but I don't think fish are big on citrus (although citrus -- lemon -- is good on fish)!
