Imagine for a moment, that you treated your best friend the way you sometimes treat our own body. What if, for example…
**You blew big, cancer-causing clouds of smoke into her face?
**You took her out for margaritas, got her tipsy, then sat her behind the wheel of her car and-good luck, hon! -Sent her on her merry, traffic-weaving way without a seat belt, of course?
**You swore you’d meet her at the gym three mornings a week then consistently left her holding the punching bag while you slept in?
**You kept promising to make her a delicious, healthy, homemade meal, then served her something gray and greasy you picked up at the local drive-through instead?
**You commented, when she wondered aloud if she should find out her cholesterol count, “Only old men worry about that stuff”?
You get the picture: If you treated a friend this way, she’d stop being there for you. Remember: your body is the most amazing friend you’ll ever have, and you won’t get another. So the next time you catch yourself starting down a bad path ask this question: Would I want a friend I truly love to do this?
