So how are you doing today with managing stress, fitness, family, work, meals, LOL..just a few things we women have to juggle!???

I'm still sick and you know I'm sick if I miss Jazzercise, I think Eric about fainted when I told him I'm staying in bed. I do plan to go to body scuplting tonight because it's mostly floor work, but my ears, throat, teeth, head are still affected by this bug!

I've had a piece of toast with peanut butter (not hungry but ate), and some gyoza leftovers (still not hungry but what the heck).

Organzing community stuff and getting the wash done, even cleaning the kitchen.

Not too much juggling here other than what I've listed. Dinner is leftover salmon...easy!

SHARE your day so far please....Deb

Handshaking is the WORST for passing germs. I wash my hands constantly during sick season, particularly before I touch around my eyes, nose, or mouth.

It's been a pretty good day although when you hear the boss say is it Friday yet? you know that things are a little screwy. It was one of those few and far between days when I sat and watched the clock and wondered when if ever it would hit 5PM (maybe that's why the secretarial staff doesn't have Internet access!). We've got something going around our office too-one attorney out and a secretary out. Just hoping it's not going any further! Deb-Hope that nasty bug gets out of your system soon and you feel better!

Looking forward to a walk with Otto after dinner to get the blood moving again!

Have a good evening!

Poor Winston got work on both ends today! He not only got neutered, but had 3 baby teeth removed. He was still perky when I picked him up, so I slipped him a pain pill on the way home to tone him down. He was resting quietly at my feet, but I see that he is trying "attack" Katie again. The vet. said it will take 4-6 months for the testosterone to get out of his system. Heaven help us!

Deb, hope you're feeling 100% again soon. You MUST be feeling poorly to miss Jazzercise.

I got my running around done early and had a 3 1/2 hour lunch at Panera with a friend. We always seem to do that. I was good and had my usual Fandango Salad and tea. Also, had a healthy breakfast. If I'm good at dinner, I won't feel so bad about having some of that new choc. cake recipe. Got a good deal on some really nice black knit slacks at one of the shops we looked in.

Tomorrow, is our RWCDF's tour of the USS John F. Kennedy. We'll meet at a hotel near downtown and take buses out to the naval station at the beach. We aren't allowed to take pictures and must have picture ID's. They're charging a whopping $3.25 for lunch. Such a deal! We'll wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes due to a lot of walking and climbing some ladders. I've never been on an aircraft carrier, so I'm excited.

Guess I should go turn on Fox and see how the CA festivities are going. Oh, I was so happy to see that Bill O'Reilly's new book bumped freaky Al Franken's from #1 on the bestseller list. Go Bill!

But, it's not on the SBD...

Sorrento Choco Dolce

1 box deluxe devil's food cake mix (I used triple chocolate)

1 c. water

1 c. Sorrento ricotta cheese

1/2 veg. oil

2 eggs

Choc. Frosting:

12 oz. quality chocolate (Ghirardelli double choc. chips are good)

1 c. sour cream at room temp.

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom and sides of two 8" cake pans. Mix all ingred. on low speed for 1 min. Scrape bowl. Mix on med. speed for 2 min. Divide batter evenly between pans. Bake for 30 to 35 min. Cool for 10 min. Melt chocolate over simmering water, stir until smooth (I do it in the microwave). Let cool to room temp. Mix sour cream into melted choc. with wire whisk. Frost as desired.

I just read something about that---the woman said if we could handshake and THEN wash our hands we would be ok, but as humans we shake and then touch face hands hair etc. Oh--we are such humans!!!! Everyone has had this and I've been so smug thinking I wouldn't get it...down with smug...up with reality! I would love a piece of that cake, at first I thought it was a SBD book cake LOL...I am thinking of making one of the desserts in Cooking Light. Right now Eric's weight is up a couple of lbs and it's because he's been on his own since I wasn't feeling well last Fri...and there were no groceries...he made his way through every cupboard and it ain't pretty LOL...last night I stopped him from finishing off dry roasted nuts. Between him and his salty snacks and me and my chocolate, we truly are a pair made for each other.

Your poor Winston!

Fandango Salad?????What is in that? Sounds latin!

Your tour tomorrow sounds fun, I don't think the GHRW do anything fun like that, I hate to get more involved but I might--just for the side trips LOL...don't forget your lunch money!

A Fandango Salad is mixed spring greens, gorgonzola cheese, Mandarin orange sections, walnuts, and the best raspberry vinegarette dressing I've ever had. The combination of sweet, sour, and crunchy is very satisfying. Of course, so is the warm sourdough bread!

Our group is going to be getting out to raise awareness and register voters in the upcoming months. We'll be at the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair this month with a booth to tell people about the club and to help them register (Republican, of course), and we're going to participate in a neighboring town's Festival of Trees with a decorated tree and decorated tables. We'll also help register people to vote there. I'm sure more and more things will pop up in the coming months.
