Tuesday afternoon check in.....

So how are you doing today with managing stress, fitness, family, work, meals, LOL..just a few things we women have to juggle!???
I'm still sick and you know I'm sick if I miss Jazzercise, I think Eric about fainted when I told him I'm staying in bed. I do plan to go to body scuplting tonight because it's mostly floor work, but my ears, throat, teeth, head are still affected by this bug!
I've had a piece of toast with peanut butter (not hungry but ate), and some gyoza leftovers (still not hungry but what the heck).
Organzing community stuff and getting the wash done, even cleaning the kitchen.
Not too much juggling here other than what I've listed. Dinner is leftover salmon...easy!
SHARE your day so far please....Deb

Actually, if we're going to work on something like that, I think I'd rather lobby for new carpet padding. We have carpet over concrete and it's hard on the ol' knees and ankles. The new south center opens on November 1st. I'm psyched to see how it turns out. Padded aerobic floors, brand new building...I may be switching studios here soon.
I'm dying for some new songs though. They've really been digging deep and going way back for some different routines. I can't wait to see what's next!

OK, I'm am finally a full-fledged Shania fan! She makes it look so effortless. Interplay with the audience, terrific stage presence, great talent, plus she works like a dog up there. Her band is the best - that's what caught my attention in the first place years back, and they didn't miss a beat all night. What talent. I loved watching the audience, too - a real mix of ages (as little as what looked like 3 yrs of age and at least one very senior citizen who looked to be well into his 80s and needed some help manuevering around the seating area). In Boston, home of tweed jackets and suede elbow patches, lots of cowboy boots, lots of 10-gallon hats.
Shania did the show in the round rather than as an end-stage setup, which was a nice surprise, so everyone got to see everything throughout the show. Our seats were low enough to see the expressions on the performers' faces, but high enough that we didn't have to stand up the whole show - not that we didn't, anyway (haven't danced in place that much in ages!). Except for her percussionists, as you've seen on televised concerts, the band moves around the stage with her throughout the show. They have a ton of energy and are each in unbelieveable physical condition.
Very professional setup - the opening act came on promptly at 7:30 (a guy named Jim Otto - real honky-tonk country/rock - liked him - has a single that has bee/will be released called "Days of Our Lives). He finished at 8, and she and her band were on and singing at 8:15, and didn't let up 10:30. She really mixed her song selections well - she's definitely turned more toward rock, but the country is still prominent, and her ballads are still winners.
My only complaint - LOUDDDDD!!!!! I know concerts have changed since the last one I went to 15 or so years ago, but the decibel level was truly painful. Although that sense of muffled hearing is gone, my eardrums feel almost bruised. If the venue were outdoors, it probably wouldn't have hurt so much. Now I know to bring earplugs for the next concert we go to.
Most important - DH had a big grin on his face all evening, so I know he appreciated it.
Getting home was interesting. Got a cardio workout in after all. We met and parked the car over near my office, which is at the opposite end of town from the Fleet Center. Took public transit over and had plenty of time to kill, so we visited my mom for a bit (she's within a 5-10 minute walk of the Fleet) and headed over. Got through security before it was all backed up. After the show, we got outside the Fleet and realized we were not going to get near the transit platform, much less on a train, for at least a 1/2 hour, so we decided to hoof it back to the parking garage - about a 3-mile walk, UP Beacon Hill and around Boston Common and the Public Garden. We stayed on the streets outside the two parks - never know what can happen on the Common at 11 pm) and zigzagged through the streets to the garage. Finally got home at around 12:15.
I'm very sleepy, but I'm in a great mood that I refuse to allow anyone here at work to upset.

Had the hummus with the cukes because I ran out of celery. Necessity is the mother of invention....
