We were having our lunch near the National Guard's booth, and we kept seeing people doing pushups and situps. They had charts for men and women, and based on your age, what would be the minimum the Nat'l Guard would require you to do in two minutes to pass a physical test (not sure if it's entrance or to pass basic training). At age 41, the minimum for a woman was 13, max was 40. The guardsman asked me my age under his breath, LOL! I told him, he said 13 minimum, but that I looked like I wasn't the sort to settle for minimum. Now, I've not exercised for about 2 weeks, and even with pushups I usually do 'em on my knees. Still, I thought I could do 13. I managed 20! A few times I didn't quite get down low enough, but they still counted. 13 was no problem, 15 I started feeling it, 17 took a pause and managed 3 more. I even got a little bit of applause from some college aged bystanders. Next year I'll try the situps - 38 or so for my age. I can do crunches, but I've not even tried bent-knee situps in years.
Got a little Nat'l Guard cup, with a belt clip, key chain with a camo hummer on it, and a neckstrap with a clip and keyring. ...Well, they were giving those to everybody who tried, but what the hey - it was my prize!

I can't do a single full-length push up. I keep trying, but I just can't get there yet. Have to keep working on it.
