Using Big Fitness Balls ....and Lori....

Maybe Phyllis can help on this one...but when I use the big ball on ab work I feel less strain on neck and back...and I feel more intense work on my core/abs! So...

Lori your post about the balls not being used in your class. Right now we're at a community center and everyone needs to bring their balls each time. Until we find a Jazzercise center where we can leave our stuff it will be a hassle! Last week I forgot half my load in front of the center because it's "new" for me to have to make two trips to the car on days we use balls. GOOD thing is that people are excited about it.

We'll use them again today. Lori, I think you do need to take the bull by the horn and get everyone to ask to try. The routines are a little different..like "Landslide" where you are on your sides and lift both legs up..you'd lean on the ball and lift one leg up--yet I really felt it in my obliques even with one leg up.

Our evening teacher when asked about introing big balls to her sculpting class said that she'd have to wait because she just started body scuplting up (about 2 mths ago!). I think maybe there is a hesitancy to start something new even with instructors. I may just show up in the evening class with my big ball. Soon I'll have the ball versions of the routines memorized and give it a go in evening :o).

Carpet is hard on the knees! We have linoleum. When I Jazzercise on carpet I feel like I can't move and get stuck, know what I mean?

Hey--I'll be happy to send you my list of requests...I keep them when I see them on the physical.com site. I just sent a list of latin songs to one of the instructors as my requests, and she did one and said Debra has already done this she requested..ha ha..no I hadn't, but it was fun--just got it off that website :o).

I'll have to make some more noise about those balls. They're listed in the brochure that the center handed out to me when I joined, but we're not using them. I've never even tried them so maybe I should hit the gym here at work and give them a go.

Carpet is hard on the knees so I bring along an exercise mat. Yes, yet another thing to lug along. We don't have lockers or anything at the center so I have to lug my shoes, my weights, my water bottle and my mat. Not to mention my purse, coat, etc. What a pain.

Oh, the things we do to stay beautiful!

I love fitness balls and use them in almost every training.
