shoulder does that = a woman who is slowly falling apart? Am I doing the wrong things for the right reason? And as I post this I got a phone call from the dr about DH but while they had me on the phone decided to share that my electrolyte count from my recent blood test is off and my potassium level is hovering near normal so back to the Dr I go for a repeat draw from the local vampire. This is really getting old and so am I.

Well, if it does mean getting older I guess we're in this together because mine do, too! My knees more than shoulder but it seems to quiet down when I exercise a little more for some crazy reason.

Ohhh ouch! Remember all my crackling knee posts way back when? It's when I was running. I was fine for the first several months of running then BOOM...the knee made sounds of it's on. I was very afraid! Stopped running and just concentrated on Jazzercise (I'm sure it was too much of both) and all is better right now. But it scared me big time. My knees hurt too. Now fine. My sister the phys therapist told me to stop running or I was going to get arthritis (cut back on one or the other). Deb

I have a lot of noises too. My feet sound like Rice Krispies when I first get up in the morning. A knee I had surgery on occasionally still pops, and a tendon in my shoulder does. I think the of an "overdoer" you are or were, the more common that is. Here's a link with an interesting explanation:

Yep, I get those too. Not so much in the shoulders anymore but still get them in my knees. My shoulders used to be really bad and popped really loud. Then I started doing 'rotator' exercises and they've really quieted down a lot.

You're not falling apart. Good luck with the doc.

Funny to think that at this point in our lives we'd sound like - a bowl of Rice Krispies (snap-crackle-pop).

I've got one of those knees - creaky like a wood floor when I go up and down stairs. No pain, though, just sounds. Pain has been in my hips, but I have a couple of exercises that do the trick when they act up. I try to do them even when there's no pain.

Susan, I hope you and your family have a medically calm Autumn. I think you've all had enough these last couple of months.

Okay, we can start a band with all the cracks & pops, lets just add some vocal wheezes or something!

I get cracks and pops in my left forearm with each weight lift, and if I don't flop my knees over completely on oblique curls, I get a beautiful crack stretching the length of my left ribcage. Drives me nuts. From what I understand it's ligaments rubbing against cartiledge or bone.

I have a catchy little tendon twang in my left shoulder from when I had an impingement from carrying bags of design samples that were too heavy. Might add a little variety to the mix. I am a veritable one woman band.
