Thinking about trying WW again......

Not sure what to try and what to do. I have been thinking these last few days about trying WW again. I miss my sandwiches for lunch, and some cereal in the morning for breakfast. This low/no carb thing is difficult. I so not have time for eggs everyday, and the protien shakes do not hold me through until lunch time. I have all the material from my past WW meetings,I can print my own journel. So maybe its time to retry. What do you guys thinks?

Hi, Deb - If WW worked for you before, do it again. Especially where you have all the materials. It didn't do a durned thing for me and I'm happy to be off of it. Different strokes for different folks - that's what makes the world turn.

Good luck, whatever you choose! You know we'll be pushing you - ever so gently....

Hi Deb,

I think it's fine for you to try any plan that is healthy and we all know WW is. I wanted to tell you that yesterday I was taking some time to finally sit down and read a bit of the new Dr. Phil book...The Seven Keys To Weight Loss. It's not a quick read you have to do the work to get to the place where you are honest with yourself about you eating habits. I think it's going to be a help to me and I was thinking about you saying that you are frustrated at the fact that you have not had as much success in the weight loss department as you had hoped. Deb, I hope you don't mind me putting my 2 cents in but if I hadn't seen your photo and had only read your posts I would envision you heavier than you are because I can sense your frustration with your current weight. I am hoping this book can help me unlock some of my emotional issues with weight and wondered if it could be helpful to you also.

Deb, I take my hat off to you for your effort to keep searching to find what will work for you!...Margie :)

Dh and I saw the commercial for Special K and the diet they suggested was two bowls of Special K a day and one full meal, with vegies and fruit for snackin inbetween. YOu do this for 3 weeks and they say you go down one pant size. We both said, "Hey, I can do that!" So we did! We've been doing it now for almost two weeks and I feel great!. We give ourselves one day out of the week to splurge alittle but not overdue it and get right back into it the next day. So far so good!

One of the things I've discovered is that, if I eat something sugary for breakfast (like a marmalade-filled croissant), I feel awful all day. If I eat something nutritious like a decent cereal and yogurt, I feel good. So, I've been feeling way less tempted to eat junk for breakfast...

Dear Deb,

I am on my seventh week of weight watchers and it is working great for me. I became a lifetime member 12 years ago and am back to it again now. It really works well for me because it is regular eating, no restrictions. I love carbs and can have all I want with weight watchers as long as I stay in my points range. If you join be sure that you find a leader that you like and stay for the meetings, it really helps.

Good Luck

Give it a try! I lost 38 lbs on Weight Watchers and have kept it off (hey almost two years now..yippeee) and am more lean than I was even after the loss.

Bottomline, whatever works for you--give it a try. I've watched my friends lose a lot by just taking in less calories (and still eating those carbs!), eating more healthy--decent dose of fitness.

Hmmm wonder if it really comes down to eating less, working out more and a calorie is a calorie??! I want the answer :o).

Low carb high carb low fat high fat high protein low protein no bread on Tuesdays don't eat fruit with meat...it's all too confusing.

For me I have to keep up with the fitness and try (tryyyyyyyyyyyy) to eat healthy! I eat bread, drink coffee, use dairy, eat cookies (not as a meal LOL), eat pasta, eat rice, eat meat, I enjoy it all..try to keep it in moderation as best I can.

If it worked for you in the past and you like the diet...go for it.

Good luck, Deb! I love the sound of the WW plan (as I love all food groups). My friend, Carla is on it now & she loves it! I may join up for a little while if I don't lose my 5 lbs. on my own. I really can't afford the dues for very long, though. I hate being restricted on any eating plan, and to be honest, I got so terribly tired of following the Somercise plan even though I lost about 25 lbs. or so on it. It did restrict some of the carbs, although I had carbs everyday. I know myself better than to go on Atkins! Not for me! Anyway, like everyone here says, you need to do what you like best and do what works best for you. I think for me, what works best is smaller portions and reduction in carbs/fats. Now if I would just DO it!

Hugs and let's do this!

I meant this for Deb from Long Island.

P.S. Deb from L.I. - if I get off weeknights as I have asked, I can just go up the street after work for WW meetings on Monday nights. The main reasons I want to join are for the plan itself (I've heard from my friend that it isn't hard to calculate portions as I had once thought) and also for the support. I have to admit that I want to be around people with the same goals as I - Carla, my friend on WW, goes out walking with me early in the a.m. Knowing that she may be wondering where I am if I don't show up is also an incentive for me to get that cardio in! Now I am not afraid to go out walking in the wee hours, and what a relief! I wish I could go with you to WW meetings. It's always better to have someone along for support. However, feel free to email me or IM me anytime, Deb. My email is: katsonnet@aol.com

Hugs,

Guess I'll add my two cents too! You have to find the right plan for you. Something that you're comfortable with. Personally, if I were to chose one that I thought would work for me it would be WW. There's just too many things I really love to eat and trying something where I couldn't have them would be tough for me. So I try to still have the things I really like just not as often and not as much and I've also found out that some of the things that I thought I really had to have I really don't want them anymore. But that's me! So if that's the direction you're headed-go for it and we're all here for you to cheer you on!
