I've reached my weight goal - I'm at 58 KG - (127 pounds). AND I deadlifted 50KG (110 pounds) yesterday. Hooray! And today I rode 22 kilometers on my new bicycle.
BTW - hi ladies. Nice to see ya'll again... It's *very* busy hereabouts right now...

Hey - keep it up with the dumbbells. When I was first losing weight a couple years ago, I started with 1 pound dumbbells! Honestly. I figured I could use them during my step aerobics... Then I started hanging out here so I tried some more weight training with some 3 pound dumbbells... Decided that was kewl but after a while they weren't heavy enough... Well, about that time I found a weight bench and weights in the basement leftover from my ex, and started trying those...
I'm on a newsgroup (misc.fitness.weights) where there's a 73 year old woman who's working her way up from being told she was going to have to start using canes or wheelchair... She's doing squats and just started deadlifts these days...
So keep it up and don't let the "girls don't lift real weights" nonsense hold you back.
