Good Morning!

No workout today. No workout tomorrow. Today I'm cleaning the house. And I mean clean. Phyllis, I soooo hear you on the filing piling up. I'm looking at the stacks in my home office....arrrrrrrrgggggghhhhh. I just dread doing it because I let it pile up. I need to work on that.

This afternoon DH, DD and I are going to Olive Garden for lunch. DD's favorite place. The boys are camping until later on today so she's getting some quality time with us and vice-versa.

Tomorrow morning we are all heading to Grave's Mountain for apple picking and the apple festival. It's an annual event. We're going alone for the first time ever. I'm kinda glad! Monday morning, DH and the oldest two darlings are heading to Old Rag Mountain with a bunch of folks from church to do the hike. I've got Worship Team practice in the afternoon...that's my story and I'm stickin' with it! I really liked the hike. It was easier than I thought it would be. But I just have too much to do. My folks arrive Wednesday or Thursday...need I say more!

Next week is going to be a bear. I am not going to give in and give up my exercising. That is the top priority on my list. This last week of working out every day has really lifted my spirits, my energy level and my attitude. I was doing something yesterday evening and my daughter commented on my biceps. She actually had to touch them. Tuesday morning starts The South Beach Diet. I'm psyched! DH isn't so much ;)

Check ya later.

Sassy :)

It's a 9 hour work day for me, but I'm happy because it will help pay for the new alarm I'm getting for the home. Yesterday I purchased 2 big pots of mums at $5.88 each! What a bargain, along with the pumpkins 2 for $5.00. Now my porch looks colorful for autumn.

I also got some Southern Living at Home letters out to friends and acquaintances. Need to do some more this weekend. I am so pleased that on their philanthropy page they have partnered with Clairol Professional in the Salons and the National Cosmetology Assoc. to launch "Cut It Out" which is a partnership to help alleviate domestic violence. I'll have to find out more about this and see what I can do to help. I'm sure I can at least get a press release to our local newspapers and TV/radio stations.

I hope to get some kind of workout in tomorrow, but again have to work at Dillards.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Mornin'Ladies,

Guess I must have had a good nights sleep-went to bed at 11 after sleeping through 2 1/2 hours of TV in my chair in the basement, and slept through until 6:45 this morning.

Took a 3 mile walk this morning and now it's tackling the debris around here. Heading to a new hairdresser this afternoon for a cut and color. Do you feel like a traitor by going to a new person to cut your hair? Both my DD's convinced me that I need a fresh outlook on my hair so I'm trying the girl that they both use. I have absolutely no clue what I want to do with it but they've convinced me that she'll find the right look for me-we'll see. That's pretty much my excitement for the day.

Hope your Saturday is absolutely Stupendous!

Friday nights are sleepless in seattleish for me. The only thing I can figure out is that Eric doesn't have to get up early, but I do (if I want to make my early morning Saturday workout in the next town over). So I toss and turn. Up til 1am reading...tossed like a salad...then woke up at 5ish something.

My great pork roast experiment turned out! My friend from Hawaii makes Kalua Pig and the old fashioned way is much different from the new way. The new way is to cook it for a long period in a crock pot. Two other friends also shared with me their pork secret. One was from Emeril--put some Emeril Essence on the outside, drop the big roast (no browning needed) in the crockpot...she did it from noon one day all night til the next day on low. My other friend said noooooooooo, she does it the South Carolina way--no way do you cook it that long. Well I combined thoughts on all three and cooked it from noon yesterday til 6am today. 18 hrs. It's WONDERFUL..fell off the bone and flaked, tastes great. :o) Now what to do with all this meat LOL..I'll freeze some I guess.

This morning our Jazzercise class is an hour early, all of the instructors have a meeting in Portland (oregon!) and so we're off to class in about 45 min. Picking up a friend, we'll do class then coffee and saunter home.

I have about 20 magazines I'd like to sit in front of the fire and go through today :o)

Good job Phyllis! I have a pile of filing at the lab myself, but who has time to file?

Working again today. We have rain...and mean RAIN. It's literally pouring out there! Good deal as far as I'm concerned. We need the rain. But I bet the farmers won't be too happy as there are still a lot of unharvested fields around here.

Today's workout? I haven't even thought about it yet. I think I'll hit the gym at work today for a quickie elliptical workout and call it good. I'm still sore from thursday night's double Jazzer-whammy.

My 15 minute project? I have got to get the dog nose prints off the inside of my windshield!

Have a super day!

Good morning ---

Well, I wasn't exactly up with the birds this morning, but I did get back from my walk at 8:30 - did 3 miles instead of 4 because I thought I was going to get rained on heavily; the sky is so dark and gloomy I slept through two alarms.

Going to shower and heading to the grocery store for the healthy/low-fat/low-carb stuff I couldn't find at Costco Friday, and receipt shredding and filing a little later.

Personal care afternoon - hair color, lip bleach, nail care before dinner tonight.

Thanks for all the anniversary good wishes - it sure doesn't feel like 21 years, but that's what the license says! We're going to one of our favorite celebration places deep in the suburbs. It's not new to us, but it has new ownership and a new consulting chef that are the same as one of the city's newer, more innovative restaurants/clubs. The Boston Globe just happened to publish a review in Friday's paper that absolutely glowed over the revved-up menu, so we couldn't pass on it. We were able to get reservations for 7:45.

Other weekend plans? What else on Sunday afternoon? Patriots vs Giants at 1:00. Even with the Patriots' successes over the last few years, there are still a lot of old diehard Giants fans based in New England from back in the days when there were only a half dozen football teams and the Patriots were a pipe dream. As for me - GO PATS!

Have a stu-super-pendous Saturday!

I'm still sore from working out yesterday (even the bone up behind my left ear feels bruised ??). Not sure what I'll do today. It's overcast this morning. I got the laundry caught up yesterday and should do the floors today, but don't think my neck is up to it. Tim just walked in the door from his whirlwind NC trip. He looks fried. I think I'll spend some time with him today! I'm taking Rob to a friend's house for a birthday sleepover.

I have an actual dressy, nighttime function tonight, a benefit for the Guardian ad Litem group at a very ornate theater downtown. There will be a film and dinner. About 12 of us are dressing up and going. I have a new black knit street length dress and a dressier black knit cardigan to go over it. I will dress it up with some strappy beaded shoes and jewelry. Afterwards, we're going to my friend's house for dessert to celebrate her birthday, which is next Tuesday. That's when our volunteer lunch is, and I think I'm going to bring a cake that day for the group to surprise her. She is such fun!

My guys are hollering for brunch, so guess that's my next move.

Have a fun day!

Rhonda

Husband went to the train show while MIL & Li'l Al ran errands this morning, while I stayed behind and did some more system updating on MIL's computer.
