I'm a Groupie!

Imagine that...I was on the weightwatchers.com site to poke around and see what I'm still paying for...and I came across their fitness personality test. Here is what it told me:

You're a Groupie!

You are likely to have lots of friends and a busy social calendar to prove it — group fitness is likely to be made for you. Good times with a walking group or the rhythm of dance classes energize you and give opportunity for self-expression. You're likely to be competitive at heart and enjoy keeping up with the crowd (or watching them keep up with you!). In a public environment, you're likely to push yourself harder and remain dedicated to your workout. You're also inspired by walking with your co-workers on your lunch break or playing softball in the company league. Exercise for you is likely as much a workout as it is a social experience. You should consider choosing activities that fulfill your emotional need to be around others and network at the same time: walking with a group, kickboxing, doubles tennis, a golf league or a team sport such as basketball or soccer.

Hey, I am the Queen of the Klutzes, I promise! I just don't worry about how I look or what others think. I know I'm basically a bull in a china shop when it comes to dancing, but I have a great time and it gets my heart rate up. And there are others there who aren't as graceful as I am. At least I'm usually on the beat.... Besides, I can always pretend I'm the prima ballerina in my mind. Sometimes the instructor asks us to imagine we're in a Broadway play or something...usually gets a few giggles but it's fun. If you ever get the time, you should try it once.

Me, too! Although I think you define it a lot more than I do. However, I think there has to be a bit of GROUPIE in everyone that continues to post here. That was fun! thanks!

Lori---outside exerciser...yours sounds so beautiful and peaceful. We fall into several categories don't you think? Our vacations have to include hiking now---or it's just not a vacation :o). We've managed to get some great hiking trips in this year, but not nearly enough. I like what yours said!

Booty---it's funny, sometimes in class I'm a ballerina, some times I'm a hip hop pro, sometimes ....that's why I love Jazzercise, it's so much fun you can just let yourself go and WHO CARES. If you goof WHO CARES...! I like when they say it's "your workout"....

The best part about it is just letting go and enjoying the moment and working hard and thinking...this is exercise? IT's too fun!

EXACTLY! Finally, exercise that's fun AND effective! I love the hip hop routines although I'm sure I don't do them right. I don't care. It's about having fun and if you miss a beat, come in on the next one. One of my instructors just tells us to 'fake it til we make it.' We have this woman in one class who has got to be in her 70's. She's in there doing Nellie with the rest of us, hip hopping like crazy. It's a real scream. We finally got some of the new music and that has certainly been interesting. I tripped all over my own feet through half the class on sunday.
