Good morning!I'm grounded today.DS car is in the shop so he'll be using mine today.I'll be home all day and have no excuse for not getting alot accomplished.Chickens will take up most of the day.We keep the birds in half of the house the first few days they are here.On those days I have to put out feed by hand in a couple of the houses.Used to be 3-5 days now they want 7.It's really a job and wearing me out this time. One of the houses just has boards to section it off.A bunch of the birds have just jumped over the board and moved down.I love that.Makes me think they are good strong birds. Plus technically I'm doing what they want but my birds are kinda thumbing their noses at the management plan.Gotta love a chicken with attitude!

Ok, so I'm running today, doing weights, cleaning the house and possibly baking a cake.I'm baking a pineapple cake;DS loves it, DH likes it and I don't care for it at all.Perfect, they'll eat it and I won't.

Phyllis, hope the health fair goes well.

Top 3;Have had a good balance between work and time with family and friends 2)Dropped a couple of pounds 3)Managing migraines well enough to not lose whole days when I get them

It's rainy here and I pulled a muscle in my back, so I'm taking it easy today. That's ironic, Patty - I was going to make some brownies this a.m. for ds, but I can't resist them, so he'll just have to eat whatever else is around. Pineapple cake does sound good to me, though! Hey, Pattycakes, congratulations on the lbs. dropped! You go, girl! You've been working out hard, lately and it's working!

Top 3: I have new walking buddies, new WW buddies (including our Deb from LI who is helping me with WW) and I get Thurs. & Fri. nights off this week!

Went to bed hungry and woke up hungry. These lbs. better be melting! LOL! Today, I'm going to try to eat a little more appetizing things. I may run to the store in a minute to buy some macaroni & reduced fat cheddar so I can make the WW macaroni & cheese. I haven't eaten that dish in years (just like I rarely eat french fries or donuts). Another comfort food dish I want to make from WW magazine is their chicken & dumplings. If the recipes are good, I will share. Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning! Susan, hope you and your husband are feeling better and that things ease up for you soon. I was thinking about you last night when I started reading a book I've been wanting to for a long time. It's called "Alkalize or Die" and is about how when we get our systems more alkaline and reduce toxic acidic waste how much healthier we are. It helps with cardiovascular problems such as cholesterol and high blood pressure. This is the 3rd book along those lines that I've read. The first two were "Reverse Aging" and "The Alkaline Acid Balance Diet."

Good luck at the health fair, Phyllis. I'm sure you'll do well. Patty, congrats on losing those few lbs. They all add up. And, Kat, sure hope your back muscle is feeling better soon. I had 4 magnets down my neck and into my upper back after working in the yard 3 1/2 hours Friday. I had such a muscle spasm, but after a day of wearing the magnets, it's gone.

Top 3 positive:

1. I bought 2 new pairs of jeans yesterday, each a different brand, and they were both size 6's. There's no way I can be a true 6 at this weight, so they must run large, but it sure makes me feel better.

2. I am eating better, taking some supplements again, and reading about health to try to increase my energy level and motivation to get moving more.

3. I did a good bit of exercise this week with the yard, the aircraft carrier tour, and walking, so I feel that I'm getting back in the swing of things somewhat.

4. Have to add a 4th, went to a benefit for Guardian ad Litem. Had a really good time with friends, got to taste wonderful food from 8 area restaurants, and contributed to a very worthy cause.

Today, is the 3rd volunteer luncheon I've organized. We should have about a dozen people at Dave and Buster's restaurant. It's my friend, Cindy's, birthday so I'm surprising her with a Boston cream cake. It's a small one, so we can each have a sliver. I'm having the fantastic spinach salad for lunch. Afterwards, we're supposed to go to Costco. I've never been, but think I'd like to join. We're going to pick up some books for our book drive for foster children while we're' there. They have fantastic book prices. Which reminds me, heard about a book I'd like to read. It's called, "No Excuses: Closing the Racial Gap in Learning." Did anyone see Miss America on O'Reilly last night? Very good. She's a Florida girl!

Good Morning!

Slept thru my workout this morning...I, too, was up at 3:00. Finally fell back asleep when DH left for work around 5:00. That's always a bad thing! Slept right thru my alarm! Grrrrr.....Hate starting my day this way. I had such big plans.

Oldest DS has an orthodontist appointment this morning. DD is home sick. Youngest DS is just trouble! I've got to go the office for some appointments.

I'm really irked because I wanted to get my workout in. Just not sure how/when/where today. Maybe treadmill this afternoon. And weights. Yes, I can do this! I just need to be flexible.

Top 3's.

1. Had an awesome worship team practice yesterday. I've just been too shy to really sing and give my opinions on things (shocking, but true, I swear!). Our leader has been so encouraging and wonderful (I've known her for years and years) and yesterday I finally came out of my shell a bit. They were shocked. Pleasantly so. So now I have no excuse and I will be miked. Not sure I'm ready. But I'm ready to start relying on Him and getting out of my comfort zone. It's not all about me, you know :)

2. Did really great with my workouts last week. Plan to continue that this week, too.

3. Finally getting a handle on this house and the clutter. I have to "let go" emotionally to objects, and I am.

Have a great day, ladies. Have a great Birthday Phyllis!

Sassy

Today's workout: Step class this evening. Then I get to go home and clean up the mud that the dogs tracked in overnight when DH let them back in the house. Didn't have time to get it this morning and I think we all know how much of it he'll clean up.

Top 3 positives:

1. Had a nice long visit on the phone with Mom on saturday. It sure does me good to hear from her.

2. Had a nice long visit on the phone with Dad on saturday. He's been to the doctor again and he's convinced he has a heart condition. What he has is an anxiety disorder and he won't take his meds correctly. So he has an anxiety attack and thinks it's his heart. I think I almost have him convinced that the doctor may actually be right about this one. Dad drives me crazy, but I love him just the same.

3. DH and I have had a couple of really nice days and we seem to be enjoying an extended period of marital bliss. Not sure why, but I'm loving every minute of it.

Have a marvelous day!

Good Morning,

I seem to be suffering from being exercise challenged. Going through one of those phases of just not being able to get up in the AM and the evenings have been tough. This too shall pass. In a few minutes it will be hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go.

1. Had a great new haircut and a free manicure supplied by my oldest darling daughter.

2. Had a very productive shopping trip with nice fall things coming home with me.

3. And the shopping trip was extra special nice with my younger darling daughter.

Wow! Sounds like family relations are going great on all fronts!! That has to feel so good. Keep on your dad to take his meds. No need to suffer if there's a way to prevent it.

Good morning, everyone!

Workout today - maybe none. I've had two great ones in a row. Why stop when I'm on a roll, but why kill myself when I could use a break? Especially my right hip. We'll see when I get home. May just do 20 minutes of stretching.

Top 3:

1) Down a full 10 lbs - no doubt about where the needle on the scale is.

2) Good feelin'-it workouts since Saturday.

3) Good eating habits are in place, finally, I think. Along with all the lean meats and gardens of veggies I've been eating, I've added back a few startchy carbs - oatmeal, whole-grain bread, and sweet potatoes - since Saturday with no negative effects on my weight. My dinner plates are starting to look more varied and interesting. Halloween candy and cupcakes and the like have started appearing at work and I've not been tempted. And AF is a-knockin'.

15-minute task - laundry. The towels are breeding again. Make 'em stop!

Have a great day, everyone!

Donna
