86 degrees, that's incredible! What kind of forecasts are you hearing for your winter?I saw ours is calling for equal chances of anything happening.LOL That narrows it down , doesn't it.So glad to read about what a nice day you had.
A quiet day here.I did get my weights in.I'm playing around with the idea of a late evening walk but I think I hear my jammies callin me :)
I had a nice day today. My morning cardio turned into 50 minutes on the tread, ab work, and full weights, head to toe. Don't know where that energy came from, but did I ever feel good after! We had a nice breakfast at home, then watched the Cardiac Patriots take the game back from the Dolphins in overtime. What an ending! Who says Tom Brady can't throw long and Troy Brown isn't the player he used to be?! Phooey!
We also went with my in-laws to see their new apartment. It's really nice; it's going to be a test for them going from 8 rooms with an attic and full basement to a 4-rm apartment with a storage bin. Also with living in such close proximity to others; my FIL tends to speak loudly, as his hearing has diminished, so it'll be interesting to find out if the walls of the apartment are thick enough to stop sound! The big move is this coming Friday; the following week will be the estate sale, where several important pieces of furnishings will be sold. The closing for the new owner isn't until mid-November, so my BIL who's coming east the week after the move will stay in the house and keep an eye on things until the estate sale is over, conduct his business, and visit with his parents as they settle into the new place.
Sassy, I checked out the Bass Outlet today for a gray flannel, square purse, but I didn't see any gray flannel anywhere. I did try...
We had a wonderful day. Started out with brunch at Village Inn and ran into some of our neighbors there, then headed down I-95 to the St. Augustine's Outlet Malls. No luck with navy shoes again (found some boots for the Princess), but had a good time browsing in Harry and David's. Got some cranberry hazelnut stuffing mix to try at Thanksgiving along with
Nancy...I enjoyed reading your post. Your day sounded delightful and best of all I liked the warm fuzzy feeling I reading how pleased you were to have your DH for the whole day.
Margie - Sounds like the nice chill-out kind of day you need a few more of! My ILs are going to be in the same town they've lived in all their married lives - Wellesley. The apartment is in the modern addition to an old school that was converted to housing during the baby bust years. My MIL was pretty adamant about staying in town, close to her church of over 50 years. The complex is for people 55 and older - it's closer to public transportation, several shops and small restaurants than their house was. Good for my MIL, who loves to be out and about and thinks public transportation is the only way to fly. My FIL is closer to his health club at Babson College - a nice bike ride off the main roads in good weather, and a thankfully shorter car ride when it's colder. They've already found compatible new friends and discovered several old friends who've moved to this complex - including the guy who was always trying to fix DH up with dates until I came along. He's a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see him and his wife again. I do wonder how my FIL is going to adjust to not having to putter around and do things for himself. I don't want to see him sitting in front of the TV arguing with the political commentators all day; I also don't want to see him going too far afield in the car. It'll be interesting watching his adjustment.
One of the residents we ran into introduced herself to my ILs last night; when she heard who my MIL was, she said, "Oh my goodness, everyone in town knows you and loves you. I'm so glad you're moving in here." What a nice way to be greeted!
Margie, it is so weird about navy shoes. I see every odd color in the rainbow, but the few navy shoes I see look as though they're for our grandmothers!! It is such a basic color that I can't get over how difficult it is to find.
