Feeling funky today...

I am definitely psycho woman this week. It is funny...I have noticed a direct relationship between the amount of soy I drink each month and if I love my husband or not. It's true! LOL. It's the hormones, I know, but I really think the soy helps. Have not had a lot of soy this month...trying to eat/drink low-carb...and I've noticed I've been getting leg cramps, really super moody and angry and I hate my husband just because he's alive. So, today I did a short, but intense, workout. Now I'm drinking a big glass of soy and I'm eating oatmeal. I still feel fatigued and shaky and hormonal, but I don't hate DH so much! Poor guy. They just aren't prepared for what it is truly like living with a hormone-raging, stressed-to-the-max, 42 yo, mother of three! To make it worse, I said to him one day, "don't you ever feel like you just don't like me or love me as much on some days?" He looked really hurt and said, "no, I never feel that way."

Anyway...I've put a smile on my face, decided to get past it, love him (love is a decision and a choice) and get on with my day!

Sassy<-who really has the best DH in the world no matter what her hormones are telling her.

Sassy,

I love the way you just "tell it like it is" rather than candy coat things.

Margie:

Putting your tennies on and heading out for even a short walk is a step in the right direction. Take back control and make it a priority. You know you feel better when you exercise and eat well. We all slack now and then. You've had a tough time lately, but think of how great you will feel! How satisfying it is to get that workout in and to eat something yummy AND healthy! I, too, am a sleep hound when it's dark. That is the one thing I don't like about fall and winter. And I have been sleeping in a bit lately. But it screws us all up when I do. I feel so much better right now because I got in a workout and have had some healthy things to eat (trust me, I had to drive right by The Swiss Bakery and it was all I could do not to turn into their parking lot for some goodies). I didn't do all I had planned in my workout but I did something.

No sense not telling it like it is. Sometimes it helps other folks to know that they are not alone in what they are feeling physically, mentally and hormonally. My DH tells me I give into my hormones and I can control it, blah blah blah. To some extent he is correct. But he could help out a bit more than he does when I'm feeling like this. But that's life...men are just ignorant about some stuff ;)

Take a walk or two today!

Hugs,

Sassy :)

It helps to have a good sense of humor, too. A few weeks ago I found a sign that has a picture of a witch on it and it says, "The Witch is..." and then has a sign that says "In" and when you flip it over says "Out". I put it on our front door. Without any prompting from me (or DH) our youngest (7 almost 8) stopped on our way out the door and turned the sign to "out" as he and I left. I asked him why he did that and he said, "because you're leaving".

LOL

Once a male dr asked me if I had much problem with PMS.I said I didn't but it was the weirdest thing that Rick, who has no estrogen, turns into a jerk a few days out of the month!!!I realized a few years back that I always brought up the same arguements(messy house, feeling unappreciated, etc)at the same time every cycle.I have worked hard to be aware of that and change my actions. That and exercise has really helped me.Now I'm so close to perfect it's scary ;)

Patty,

It took me about 10 years of marriage before I honestly admitted to myself that I got moody right before Aunt Flo showed up.

Give him a few estrogen shots for several months and see if he changes his tune. When he starts crying at chick flicks and can't get his pants zipped because he's bloated, I bet it would give him a whole new perspective!

Have you considered trying Evening Primrose Oil and/or Black Cohash for the PMS symtoms? You can also get Genistein Soy, which is supposed to be the best form, in capsules if you want to pass on the carbs.

Hope you're feeling better soon. Aunt Flo was with me in varying degrees for 12 days after arriving 9 days early!! I won't even go there except to say I've stocked up on super plus everything for the next visit.
