Hi everyone,

Well, My oldest ds is still in VA (Washington DC area)for job traning and I was wondering what your weather is like there? It is 90 degrees out here in California, summer like. My ds said that VA is beautiful but he is spending most of his time studing, very intense program. The two guys he hangs out with are other recent University of California graduates. The three of them are your typical,California, flip flop and shorts boys (rain or shine) He said people are looking at them like they are from another country. Maybe they are? lol

Have a great day!

Sharon, the weather here is crazy!!Cold one day, warm the next.Today we got up into the 60s maybe close to 70. Rain is coming in tonight and then it cools off for awhile.Hope your son is enjoying his time here.

By the way are you in an area affected by the fires?Thinking about you and hoping you're away from it.

Thank you for the update. No, I am in Northern California about 450 miles north of the fire area. We are having a very strange fall, way too warm. Did you have pie today?

What kind?

Thanks

Tim's mother, step-father, and sister's places are near Lake Hodges and close enough that they can see the flames. They've been packed in case they need to evacuate. His brother who lives near there has been in Oklahoma with the other brother who underwent heart surgery. They had to stop the surgery, because the artery is too thin and weak. His place is far enough away from the fires that he should be OK when he returns on Wed. Please remember them all in your prayers.

Thanks,

Rhonda

Rhonda, it is very scary out here in the west right now. I will hope and pray that your family will be just fine.

Thank-you so much, Sharon. The pictures look horrifying! Florida went through a somewhat similar situation a few years ago, and even though we weren't near the worst of it, the anxiety level stayed so high, and we still had our lungs burning from breathing the smoke and ash falling on everything. Mother Nature is a fierce adversary. Sure hope those brave firefighters can get it under control before long. Tim was involved in the timber industry for years and is a big advocate of clearing out the underbrush and cutting 80 foot wide logging roads in to act as fire breaks. I hope this will drive home to politicians and voters how
