Mon-Wed-Fri I do 20 min on the elliptical trainer, followed by ab and leg (with weights) work. Tue-Thur I do 5 min warm up on elliptical, followed by upper body weight training for 20 min. Some saturdays I do a Curves style workout (found in a magazine) done at home with resistance bands, but more often, weekends are just my time out.

I really don't like working out, but I find it necessary as I get older and my metabolism slows down some. This routine is at least comfortable, challenging, and something I have been able to stick with. (I have joined gyms in the past, only to abandon all efforts in a month or two).

Purchasing the elliptical was one of the best things I ever did.

Good thread!

Good morning everyone!A rainy day here. The guys left early yesterday to go to Williamsburg. The phone hasn't stopped ringing since.I'm not complaining because I know how lucky I am to have so many people checking on me but enough already!LOL Yesterday I tried to take a shower and the phone rang 3x.Yesterday my FIL called to tell me to call him when I finished in CL for the night. Then later he called to see if I was in, I hadn't gone yet!!Last night they all called to see if I was ok with being alone and could I sleep. This morning they all called to see if I did sleep!!I'm exhausted,I'll be glad when the guys get home!!

Poor DH was looking forward to Busch Gardens but I DS wasn't much interested so they didn't go there.I think DH is struggling some with his little boy growing up.

Ok, so todays plans include lots of time in CL.I have to get some weights in and hope to get a run in.This week I want to focus on my food and water.Need to set a goal to focus on there.I had peanutbutter pie with lunch yesterday. It was good but now I'm ready to be more disciplined.

Have a Marvelous Monday!

Ah, today is a rest day. Had a serious workout yesterday getting both the cardio and weight training done in the morning. So after work today I'm off to babysit for an hour or so and then home to try to catch up on the laundry that didn't get done this weekend. I spent a great deal of time trying to talk with my BIL and his wife (DH's brother). In fact, I had to miss the party at work because those two were going at it again. Those two are really screwed up and I don't know that I can help them. Yes, there are drugs involved. I can't help them if they won't help themselves. This has been very distressing for the whole family. Some days I wonder if anyone in DH's family is sane.

Gotta call the vet today and make an appointment for Sadie. She's gimping around and having trouble with her hindquarters. I'm beginning to suspect hip displaysia. It's not uncommon in her breed of dog and there's precious little to be done about it unless you want surgery...I don't think I can do that. I dunno. Anyway, I need to get her in for an x-ray so I have to find a vet who can do the work. My vet has already said she can't. She doesn't have the equipment. Poor Sadie is moping around with her tail tucked in and she won't sit down.

Maybe tonight will be a power lounge night with my dog.

Gads I hate this time of year. I used to love autumn but not anymore. Guess I'm too old and jaded now. I dread winter and Christmas and everything has this greyness to it in spite of the color.

My I'm just a ray of sunshine today aren't I? Sorry about that.

Have a goo day everyone!

Good morning, everyone!

Just my regular rainy, blustery Monday morning post. I need to catch up on everyone's weekend activities throughout the day. We had a wonderful sleepover with my niece and nephew, but they kept us on the go both days, so I couldn't check in at all. Not enough vitamins in the world; being back at work seems like a vacation. To all parents of young ones, Good Bless You! To those with more than one close together, well - truckloads of God Bless Yous!

Workout tonight is full cardio and weights. Back to the healthy eating bandwagon, too. It's a wonder I didn't do major damage - Saturday was a fun-food-free-for-all.

Have a great day, everyone!

Well, another wonderful 8:30-5:30 day at work for me, then home, dinner and hopefully the treadmill. Watching the news for fire updates, really sad what is happening in southern California. It has been so dry and hot up here, we can only hope that we stay fire free.

It should cool down tomorrow. Have a wonderful day, ladies!

Hugs

Sharon,

I hope you aren't close to any of the fires.

I got in a lot of brisk walking at the mall and some slower walking at Steinmart, Lowe's, Publix, and Walgreen's. Got 5 gifts to put aside for Tim for Christmas and some boxes and giftwrap to get them wrapped up and put away. I like to wrap as I buy to keep snoopers out. Also, it's not so overwhelming that way.

It's overcast here and rained a little up the road, but it was 87 this morning. I think within the next day or so the temp. is supposed to drop 15-20 degrees. Not looking forward to that, but Tim is since he got a new jacket. ;-)

Have a wonderful Monday everybody!
