Back from my first ever race, and I definitely want to do more. What a blast! Never did catch up with my friend who talked me into signing up - too many people between the Half-Marathoners, 8K Runners, and Walkers - but no matter. My time was 54 minutes, 30-some seconds, about an 11-minute mile which is a minute better than my regular pace. I didn't make an exact note because I was too busy smiling at The Cus and Li'l Al who were cheering me on at the finish line. There was a mix-up with my transponder (the one matching my number was missing and I was assigned another one, notes were made), so hopefully I'll get my official time and not somebody else's.

Now that I'm on a mailing list, I should start hearing about upcoming races. The next one is a 10K, but that's on Thanksgiving, and we usually head out of town. The 10K on February 7th looks like a possibility.
