Good Morning.

No workout for me. Migraine, cold and other things happening. Calling the doc's office for my follow-up visit this morning. Would like to get in today. We'll see. Had a good weekend with my parents and sister. Too short, though. I'll be doing some things around the house this morning and off to the office this afternoon.

Hugs

Sassy :)

Good Monday morning! How is everyone today?I decided to spice things up this morning.Had decaf coffee instead of my usual decaf tea. How's that for coming out of a rut?LOL

On schedule today is work, run, weights and afternoon appt. with dr.

I'm realizing how the holiday season and life in general can really undo my best intentions.I've decided to set two goals for this week to build on.First I'm going to drink more water. When the weather cools down I get bad about drinking less so I want to put more effort into that.Next I got fresh fruit at the grocery store yesterday.I will reach for that instead of cookies and chips.Workouts have gone well and need to stay on course with those.

2 wks before I turn???? whatever.I usually just get happy about birthdays but this one has me thinking all kinds of things.Am I accomplishing what I want, being the person I want to be, reaching my goals, etc.Anyone else get like that before a birthday? Not sure how I feel about all this thinking!

Susan, hope you got your stove. Sassy, hope you had a good trip.Margie, hope the cold is better.Everyone have a Marvelous Monday!!

DH turns 44 on Nov 20 and announced the other day he was skipping the celebrations this year. He's feeling old.

Not that YOU'RE old, of course!

Funny how as we get older, um...more mature, that we seize more and more occassions for reflecting on who we are, what we've done, what we want to accomplish. I find I'm doing the same.

Hugs, young 'un.

I agree that planning out your workouts is a good idea to keep boredom at bay and keep the routine challenging. I took yesterday off and vegged all day only doing housework and laundry for a few hours. I've been experimenting with hairpin lace and I'm having some success in creating a nice crocheted shawl. I've been such a grouch lately that I've been trying to hide a little in the bedroom and keep away from others until my mood swings back around to halfway decent.

So, today it's off to Jazz again after work then who knows? I might actually fold the laundry.

Patty--yes, I find myself doing the same thing. This last birthday was especially bad since it was the big 4-0 for me. I think it's only natural for people to do that as we get more 'mature.'

Sassy--hope you're feeling better soon. There's been a wicked cold going through everyone in the lab and I think I'm next. Woke up with a sore throat this morning but I'm hoping it's just dry air...a faint hope, but it's mine.

Have a goo day.

Good Morning,

Well, it's Monday already. I'm not sure where these weekends go! I did get my stove, of course not without some turmoil-one of the burners wasn't lighting, but DH worked on it and it seems to be operational at the moment-of course may have to call Sears yet, but so far no more problems-and it is nice not having to have a toothpick close at hand!

I got 30 minutes of cardio in and would like to do some weights this evening-but of course that's easy to say first thing in the morning and before 9 to 5, dinner, and walking the dog.

Patty-it's not before my birthday but everything you said has been playing in my mind all week and causing quite a disturbance with some voice in the head. Not sure whether I should stir that voice up a bit or tell it to be quiet!

Sassy-hope you feel better and that you get to see the Dr today.

Good morning, all!

Had a restful weekend. Didn't kill myself in my workouts, but did indeed work out. Tonight I'll do cardio and light weights, and stretching.

Down another pound! That's 14 total. 20 to go.

Bought some new beaded pillows and a chenille throw for the bedroom - deep green and medium gold colors. Really cozy-looking.

A warning about mattress covers - how can manufacturers take something so simple and complicate them? I'm on a mission to find a plain old medium quilted top mattress cover that has elastic around it and hugs the mattress. Not one of these new-fangled anti-allergen ones that complete encase and zip around the mattress like a body bag. I can't imagine getting it over the mattress without knocking over the lamps and taking out the ceiling fan! Next stop, Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens 'n' Things, Marshalls and TJMaxx... and a visit to Land's End.com....and a quick dash through some of the local discount places to see if they have any of the old kind that I can stock up on at a good price.

Have a great day, everyone!

Thanks, Patty, on both counts. My new jeans are already baggy; and I noticed that my shoes are actually getting too big! The bedroom is looking really together. I can't wait until the missing pieces are in place - but I'm going to have to. I have no choice in the matter on one thing, and I can't find what I want for the other. And neither of those refers to DH ; well, except for the choice thing, and I wouldn't trade him for anyone or anything else....

Have a good day in CL!
