Not such a great day for me. I got a call from Mom last night. Her mom isn't doing well and they've put her in the Hospice program. My poor Mom. She's just worn herself out. Her sister has had the flu really bad and hasn't been able to get out of bed much less help out with Grandma. So Mom has been carrying this whole thing on her own. It's been pretty sudden that she got so bad. She's had problems similar in the past but always got through them ok. Yesterday she was unresponsive. Her kidneys have shut down. She has fluid in her lungs with shortness of breath. Circulation to her extremities is poor to non-existant. Classic congestive heart failure. I can hardly stand this. I'm too far away to be any good to anyone. I miss my Mom and Grandma and Aunt so much that it tears me up. It's like a knife in the heart that I can't be there. Why do these things happen at the holidays?
Anyway, the doctor does not expect her to live much longer and feels it may be soon that she dies. Mom said Grandma was so afraid a few days ago that she would die. She was crying and afraid. This time she may be right.
My Grandma is deeply devoted to her Baptist beliefs. She has a strong religious conviction. I know she would appreciate knowing that people are thinking of her and offering prayers in her name. Please, my friends, pray for her. Pray for her swift and painless passing. I can't bear the thought of her suffering and her pain anymore. This woman is the only real grandparent I ever had. There are/were others, but none like her.
Thank you.

I'm so sorry! I will pray for you, your grandmother, mother, and aunt. I can't imagine how painful it is for you to be so far away from them. I hope you find peace in your day.

Lori, I'm so sorry to hear of your Grandma's condition. If, indeed, she is in the dying process your wish for a swift passing is the kindest thing.

Add my prayers for your Grandma for a peaceful passing. It is so hard to watch someone suffer like that. More prayers for you and your mom for strength and peace at this time. The waiting is so horrible!
You mentioned you are far away. Is there anything I can do to help you get there to be with your family? I don't know how to put it gracefully, but if expenses is the problem, I would be glad to help. I understand how it feels to be far away from loved ones and can't be there.
Feel free to email me if I can help. Grace6849@aol.com
Just put your name in the subject so I don't think it is spam.
Hugs in your time of need.

My Grandma's name is Marguerite Kathleen Anders. But we just call her Kathy. I'm not positive how old she is, but I know she's pushing 90. Thanks for your kind words.
