Good morning! This week has flown by!The only thing I have planned for today is a run first thing, heading out soon. The rest of the day is wide open to do anything I want with,

very cool!!My twin has the day off and I've talked her into taking off with me today and just having fun.Can you guys believe my family is already telling me I'm working on 44!!!Sheesh I just made the jump to 40's this year!!!

DH asked what did I want to do special for my bd and I said I just want a quiet relaxing night at home.Sheesh, how old am I????I thought it would be a typical cold November night and have planned on a pot of chili for supper. Suppose to be sunny and 72!

Lori, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and your family as well. Please let me know if you need anything.

Hope all of you have a fantastic Friday!!!!

TGIF! I need a weekend right about now. It's been a hectic, insanely busy week at work. The weather turned really cold overnight. Yesterday was 75F for a high. Today's high is supposed to be around 45F. What a difference a day makes. They're callin' for our first snowstorm of the season sunday after a nice, healthy drizzle all saturday afternoon and night. Yuk. Think I'll spend my weekend in the house doing house stuff and maybe read a book.

Gyn appointment went fine. The NP that did my exam is really great and we have a good time every year. She's no nonsense and very knowledgable. I asked her about that CA-125 test and she said that for her money, she gets more information from an ultrasound and physical exam and that there are lots of things that can elevate the testing results. She also said it's not without it's uses and that it can be helpful when monitoring a woman who has a known cancer or a previous cancer. Her HO I guess.

Today's workout, Jazzercise. After work. No excuses. I ended up going to step class last night even though I didn't really feel like going. That's when I usually need to go the worst is when I don't feel like it. Made me feel great. With all that is going on, it's good to be among friends.

15-minute project. I think I'll spend my 15 minutes sorting out 15 minute projects for this weekend. I'm going to get a timer so I can see if these things really take 15 minutes or not.

Have a great day and a super weekend.

Good Morning and TGIF!

Very glad that it is Friday and it will be a 3 day weekend for me since I'm taking a vacation day Monday.

No workout for me as of yet. I had trouble getting to sleep last night and just kept falling back to sleep this morning. I'm taking a break from rushing to the grocery store after work today and will go tomorrow AM so think I'll take a walk on the treadmill this evening.

Other than that just work although it is payday! Love Fridays with a paycheck!

Hope you have a Fantastic Friday!

Good morning, everyone!

Still raining here. The weatherfolks haven't been right yet this week, so I'm just not going to listen to them. At least until snow threatens.....

I'm putting intense workouts on hold for a while. My back is hurting big time. It was sore early in the week, but that little tub-slip and snap-back Wednesday night has put it into a new category of discomfort. The act of sitting down and actually being in the sitting position is agonizing; standing up is painful, but once I'm up and walking around, it's not horrid. The pain is quite low - at tailbone level and across the top of my butt, and fortunately not shooting down my legs. Maybe I'll be able to walk the treadmill at a more leisurely pace and for a longer time than usual; we'll see. I have a dr's appointment Tuesday, so if the pain and stiffness haven't eased up, I'll talk to him about it. In the meantime, cold, heat, old-folks' ointment, Aleve, and gentle stretches. Stupid tub-mat!

The thing that frosts me is that I might have actually reached the weight milestone I wanted to reach by the holiday if I could have kept up the pace of my workouts. Without the workouts, I'll be 1-2 lbs shy of it. Rats! I'm thrilled anyway, but it would have pleased me to no end to see that magic number pop up on the scale on my Sunday weigh-in.

I had a great review and evaluation with my boss yesterday. With the economic climate as it is, I doubt that will translate into a bigger-than-average raise come December, but it's nice to have on paper. And it'll be nice to point to that when I start seeking out the work I want to do for the next phase of my life. Seems like a traitorous thing to do, but I feel it's time to figure out what kind of work will make me feel like my productivity, energy, and intelligence is being directed at something worthwhile.

Yikes, too reflective - for me, anyway - for a Friday. And I haven't even got to the Friday Five yet, so I don't know what Rhonda wants to wring from my brain-cells today.......

Have a great day, everyone!

So I had big plans for the day and then youngest DS was up coughing all night and is home sick today. DH is home today...his regular day off. We had all of these things planned and now we'll be tag-teaming at home for DS. We might drag him along for one of the errands we need to run. So I was initially bent out of shape in a big way because I never, ever, ever get to do what I want to do. And it's not anything fun that I'm even talking about. But I never get to have my day go the way I planned it and get done the things I need to get done. So this was the attitude I had all night and when I got up this morning. Needless to say, I was a bit snarly. I headed out for my walk, determined to still do what I had planned to do today. Thankfully, I do a lot of listening while power walking and man did I hear an earful. So my attitude is much, much better. I was never mad at DS for being sick, just tired of being reactive and not proactive. It wasn't really about me. It was just that I feel like I can't get caught up on anything and I'm walking on the edge. DH and I are seriously discussing my quitting my job. I would like to take some time and get my house and life in order before finding something else to do. I really enjoyed working at the frame shop. I was able to nurture my creative side and I was able to walk away when my hours were done and not think about any of it until I walked back in for my next set of hours. Doesn't pay anything though. The owner is a friend of ours and I think I might talk to him about a thought we had originally had. That I would work down in their warehouse and also do computer stuff for them there. It's a thought. I'm so stressed these days that my parents, who live in Roanoke...4 hours away from us...are on me about it. It's really affecting every aspect of my life and health.

So...the positively positive part of this post is that:

1. I had an awesome workout, including chest and back.

2. Had major prayer time/listening time during said workout.

3. I'm being proactive by thinking ahead and planning some work options.

4. I'm looking forward to the rest of the day.

Sassy

Now that birthday parties are over, I'm doing my studying to maintain my CPA certificate. I'm about half-way through, and am starting on my second self-study course today.

Workouts, unfortunately, have not been a regular part of my daily routine for the last month or so. I'm lucky if I can run twice a week. I'm not disappointed or down, I know I can get back into the groove easily enough.

Heading to the beach this afternoon for Rob to get in some practice time for his first surf contest this weekend. We're taking one of his friends with us, and Tim will meet us there. The water temp. is still 71, but will probably be dropping quickly as we get more nights into the 50's and even upper 40's. I've put in a call for details about the contest, but haven't gotten a call back yet. I'm sure the air temp. will be cold in the morning, so he'll have to wear a wetsuit.

My "workout" this week has consisted of a lot of aerobic shopping, but I've gotten so much accomplished. Rob's birthday is squared away for 12/19, plus Christmas is almost finished and wrapped except for the bows I put on at the last minute. I plan to decorate more this year and am considering putting up a second tree for all the patriotic stuff I've gotten.

Congratulations on your excellent review! Doesn't surprise me a bit.

I'm so sorry to hear about your back. One of Tim's coworkers was having a problem with his lower back, lots of pain, unable to stay asleep, so I lent him one of my supermini magnets. I talked to him yesterday, and he said the night he wore it was the first time he's been able to sleep in days, and his back isn't hurting. I told him to keep it through the weekend to help with inflammation and swelling. I've just ordered 3 more to have for loaners, but also so I'll have for myself when I loan my other one out. I have a woman who is recovering from hernia surgery who got nerve entrapment, and we want to see if it will give her any relief. It is quite painful and sends shooting pains down her leg. One thing we know for sure is it can't hurt and very likely will help.

Take care.

Rhonda
