I am cooking, but it will be only 3 of us.

Turkey/stuffing/baked or mashed sweet potatoes/mashed potatoes/gravy/green bean casserole/broccoli/cranberry relish/cranberry sauce/tossed green salad/pumpkin pie/ pumpkin cheese pie.

Everything will be made as a lower fat version. Less guilt that way!

I hope there are lots of leftovers even though I just made a turkey last Wednesday. It is all gone!

Grace

Like your menu too...I used to cook a turkey meal the next day when we went out for Thanksgiving. Had to have the leftovers and low fat versions of the sides around.

Hi, Ladies! I'm online for a few minutes here at work - had a great day off Friday and got most of Christmas shopping done & got an alarm system installed in the home. YES! Lots of cleaning got done this weekend down to shampooing carpets, but I could not bring myself to put out the Christmas decorations! Have to wait until after Thanksgiving, so that will be the plan on Friday - put up the tree & trimmings. Got a great deal at Walmart Supercenter on my turkey - 14 cents a lb.! My menu:

Apple Brandy Turkey (So. Living)

Perfect Giblet Gravy (So. Living)

Cranberry Pecan Stuffing (internet)

Cornbread, Sausage & Pecan Dressing (So. Living)

Cranberry sauce

Corn Pudding (So. Living)

Mashed potatoes

Spinach Salad (So. Living)

Green Beans Amandine (So. Living)

Rolls

Sweet potato pie (old recipe)

Pumpkin pie (old recipe)

Pumpkin Bourbon Cheesecake (Food Network - Cookworks)

Old Fashioned Bread Pudding w/Bourbon Sauce (So. Living)

A lovely Riesling (for the adults) and Sprites and other non-caffeine drinks for the kiddos!

(We're getting together with a large crowd this year, so I'm bringing alot of this feast with us!)

Personally, I can't wait to wake up in the wee hours to start cooking, watch Macy's parade, travel to friend's home & watch the football before sitting down to a lovely dinner!

Hope you all have a wonderfully Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi, Kat! How nice to see you! Your menu looks great for Thanksgiving...it did look like it was for a crowd of people. Looks like a bunch of traditional southern food.

I saw a news show on TV this morning about southern traditional food. Sean Puffy Combs mother was on it showing the foods. Looks like some of the same stuff.

Have a great day Thursday.

Great to hear from you, Kat! Your menu sounds wonderful! I have to tell you that I tried a Southern Living recipe for corn pudding a few years ago and was disappointed. I went back to the one our family has used as long as I can remember.

We've changed our plans and are now going to eat at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club, so our menu will be the myriad of stuff they serve. Their food is always excellent, so I'm pretty happy about that. I do have a 17-lb. turkey I'll cook for us with our usual side dishes another day, maybe for Sunday dinner.
