Do you think anyone really sees themselves as they are?I saw a woman I know yesterday in the store. She has had gastric bypass surgery for weight loss.I saw her in August and noticed her weight loss.I saw her yesterday and could not believe how small she was.Teeny tiny!!I felt big standing next to her.I saw her neice today and mentioned it.The neice, who is about 22,said it bummed her out that her aunt is now about 5 lbs lighter than her.I was surprised to hear both are heavier than me.I know a person can look heavier or lighter than the number on the scale. But I wondered if I had known those numbers yesterday how would I have felt standing next to her.A really good thing is that I had just had a fantastic run that morning so feeling big next to her was a fleeting thing.I noticed it and then let it go.I did however put some cookies back...

Not many people see themselves as they really are. And yes, your weight doesn't always dictate on how big or small you look. Muscle tone does most of that.
Once at the gym I saw someone's weight on the scale. I thought I would love to weigh that. Then I looked at her hips and I said I would keep my shape. That put things into some perspective for me. The scale is just a number sometimes and doesn't tell you really how healthy you are.
I guess your experience today had a good side...you resisted the cookies and realized how strong and healthy you really are.

I'm glad that your feeling was fleeting. I'm also glad you saved some cookies for me. Remember that her 'size' is relative to how big she was before the surgery. I think she seems lots smaller because she was so big before. Besides, you are the VBP and I think you look fabulous!
