I can't seem to find a workout that I like well enough, pleases my body, and keeps me interested. I absolutly love yoga, but don't think its enough. I have a pilates tape that I am going to do tonight, but don't feel really drawn to lying on the floor to do it.

Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

Deb's right, Chipper. Do what you love to do. I love Jazzercise and yoga so I do both. One gets me cranked up and the other relaxes me. I also like TaeBo for a change of pace. There are so many things to try. Do a Google search and see what's out there. Walking, biking, skating, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Tae Kwon Do, aerobics, weight lifting...yadda yadda yadda...pick something and try it. If it doesn't blow yer skirt up, try something else. Experiment and be creative. Read books. The library is your friend in that regard. I've read probably every book in our library on fitness. I only had to go down the road the Jazzercise studio here in town to find my one true fitness love.

Yoga is wonderful and can be very challenging. Stick with it. Find a cardio workout that pleases you and stick with that. There are some quizzes on ivillage that can help you pinpoint what sort of workout you might enjoy and excel at. Check them out.

If you really like doing yoga, it can be excellent for toning and flexibility. You might need to do different videos. Look for some "power yoga" videos. Pilates is similar...you may find it a nice break.

I would suggest mixing your yoga workouts with some sort of cardio. It can be walking, biking, dancing around the house to your favorite tunes. Then you would have a good mix,

Keep trying to find stuff...there are so many options now and so many different videos. The newest thing is doing intervals...cardio mixed with strength moves. It is a quick moving workout.

I will see what else I can think of.

Nothing to add. Sometimes it takes time to find what you like, and then you have to stick to it. That's crucial - sticking to it. Doesn't matter if you like it if you don't keep it up. I'll also say that there is no such thing as a quick fix. When you find something you like, you won't notice a difference in a week or two. By three weeks, maybe you'll start to see something (at least you feel different by then), but results are more visible in 6-8 weeks.

I've slacked off due to a busy schedule, but my choices are The Firm video series with the step stool, Tony Little's Abdominal workout, and running. For the most part, I prefer rote exercising to dance-type routines. If I have to put my right foot in and shake it all about, LOL!, I get too distracted and don't do the movement properly. More power to Jazzerdeb and others who are COORDINATED!! LMBO!
