So how is your day going so far?I was just reading the post from Rhonda on stress, holidays and food and thinking of how many of us could relate.I called a friend I hadn't talked to in awhile this morning. She is dealing with major family stress which is hard any time to deal with.Even more so during the holidays.

So with stress in mind I headed out for a good therapy session and got in a 6 mile run.It was great and left me feeling I could handle anything the day threw at me.I also got further ahead than I thought I would with my work so I won't have to go back tonight.A pretty good day so far.How about yours?

Well let's see...got home early from work but with no lunch hour and me not thinking ahead and lots of bakery items in the office...Ok I needn't say any more on that subject.

Threw dinner in the crockpot and decided to get started on my pumpkin pies. They'd been in the oven for about 10 minutes when the light bulb came on over my head---I never put any sugar in the ingredients. Took them out of the oven, scooped out the contents threw it back into the mixer and added the sugar...not sure how that's going to work out and burned my finger in the process. Decided to jump on the treadmill before I have to finish getting dinner together except DD has taken over the kitchen on some type of baking mission and she's been full of questions so the treadmill got turned off and the workout consisted of running up and down the basement stairs!

Hoping that the rest of the cooking goes a little more smoothly!

Hope your day is wrapping up in a nice way!

Stress and food...they go together like Merlot and Dark chocolate LOL!

I'm doing great on food intake so far.

I would do this too!!! One time I didn't want to make an apple cranberry pie from scratch and did an Apple Dutch Topping one from Marie Callendars--when baking it took it out halfway and added cranberries on other extras and it turned out fine.

Been there done that with the gizzards! Also decided one year to use one of those handy dandy aluminum roasting pans except that it sprung a leak halfway through cooking had smoke alarms going off all over the house and a lot of windows open trying to get the house clear of the smoky situation!

I did the gizzard thing too!I want to know why they take them out just to stuff them back in???

Does anyone put apples in their turkey?I heard something on TV today that if you bake the turkey with nothing in it(if you don't don't stuffing in the bird)that it gets too dry. They suggested apples and something else in it.I don't do my stuffing in the bird but had never stuffed it with anything else either.I was thinking about trying th e apples this year. What do you think?
