I enjoy reading books and see what is going on in others' lives. As different as we all are, we are all kind of the same too when it comes to family and obligations.

About exercise....the rule of thumb is to listen to your body. Everyone is different and your body will give off signals when it is ready to get back to exercising. You could always try and say you are only going to do 5 minutes and then continue if you feel well enough. If you feel like you really really have to push, you are not ready to start back up. Just start out slowly and listen to YOUR body.

However, with all the chores you have set up for yourself, you may not need to exercise. If you get too tired from doing all of that, that is enough for you today. You don't want to over do.

Good luck with all that you have planned.

Good morning everyone! (Okay, so it's after lunch in the east! :o)

I've been sitting reading all the posts and feeling quite out of the loop here! I know I've missed at least a couple of birthdays. Happy Birthday to Patty and JazzieDeb. Susan, hope your head feels better soon.

I'm a huge list maker Phyllis. Especially this time of the year. If I didn't write everything down, I'd be a mess. I have a special file in Word that is password protected. Let's me keep track of all the gifts I've purchased, made and still need to deal with! Works great. I just colour code them all and I can see at a glance where I am.

You all have inspired me and I've done my weights. I will walk to school to pick up Adam today for cardio. He's complaining that we don't walk anymore! Ahhhh....how's that..a five year old is my conscience!!! LOL

In the meantime, I'm going to tackle my Christmas card list.

They're *callin'* for snow in our neck of the woods tomorrow. I sure hope it happens. I'm tired of getting my hopes up just to have it warm up. I'm hoping for a big huge snowstorm this year. I think the last one here was in 1996, so we are due for one.

Nice to be back! Hope everyone has a fantastic day today!

Thanks, ladies, for the nice responses to my Sunday post. Well, I tried to catch up with all of you yesterday, but got so busy I couldn't post. . . It's a madhouse at the Realtors Assoc.

That dress, Deb, is one I bought about 6 years ago at Dillard's on sale. I think it's time for me to buy another "formal" this year, so after Christmas, I will try to find one I like that is on sale. Our banquet is this Thur. and I will try to remember to bring the camera. I have to go out and buy some new black velvet shoes and a dressy purse. I won't have much luck as everything is strappy and sandaly & we can't wear open toed shoes at Dillard's. I have to wear the same outfit at Dillard's when we invite our elite customers for their annual private holiday shopping this Sunday. I can wear black velvet pumps with alot of my outfits, so I'm hoping to find some. I've been putting on the self tanner for days now, so I should have decent color! I wish I could get enough energy to do some highlighting to my hair - maybe . . .

I ran 4 miles today and hope to do a 5 miler tomorrow. My weights workout and abdominal routine is tonight. I didn't do a workout last night as I just fell asleep about 7 p.m.!!! I even missed another showing of "Eloise at Christmas"! I wanted to tape that movie, it was so adorable! Hope it plays again. Can you imagine living at The Plaza?

Gotta' run - hugs to all!

I'd love to "just do it", with regard to a workout, but some bug hit me like a ton of bricks on the way home on the train of all places Monday evening; by the time DH and I got home, I was so dizzy I couldn't walk without help and by Tuesday morning it also had got hold of my stomach. I'll say no more except, not pretty. No workouts two days in a row. I've been supine on the sofa most of the day watching the ceiling spin and listening to the wind howl outside. I'm going back to the sofa soon, and I'll try to sit up for a while and see if I feel better.

The weather up here is wild - literally, depending on what side of the highways around Boston you live, you either got stuck in hours-long delays getting to work, or sailed in. There wasn't a lot of snow accumulation, but that darned "black ice" turned up all over the place and caused lots of spinouts and fender-benders. It took DH 4 hours and 40 minutes to get to work today - he left at 7:20, and called me at noon to say he had finally arrived and was calling me from the top deck of the parking garage at work in the middle of a whiteout. He normally gets home around 5:45-6 pm; if things are as bad this afternoon as they were this morning, I might not see him until 9 pm.

Take care, everyone - don't get sick if you can help it!!! Yuck!

Susan, glad to hear those scary symptoms passed quickly. Please take care of yourself and call the doc if anything funny starts up!

Glad I could be of help with the boots. LOL! What do they look like? I got my last two gift certificates from a restaurant on the way home this evening, so that's it for me this year. I could always buy more, but I have to quit.

Our luncheon was so nice today. The University Club is such a beautiful, traditional club with the dark wood paneled walls and traditional furniture. That coupled with the gorgeous views of the city from the 27th floor and the Christmas decorations made a beautiful setting. I took pictures out all the windows. It was high enough up for good views, but not so high that you couldn't tell what things are.

Everyone wore holiday attire, which was fun. The food was delicious, and it was great to see everyone. I had kind of thought I might quit organizing these gatherings, since about 1/2 or more of us see each other at other functions, but everyone seems to like them so much that I may keep it up.

I went over to Rep. Hdqtrs. to work on the Christmas tree, but wound up picking paint colors for various areas and spent the rest of the time separating assorted "decorations" from goodness knows how many years and checking lights to see if they work. Also, found out with artificial trees that it takes a lot of time to spread out all those little branches after one has been packed away. Looks as though I'll be going back tomorrow for the actual decorating and to help sort books for our children's book drive. They're going to feed us too! I got the other Rep. women's club involved, and they've really embraced
