I'm so glad you enjoyed browsing. The furniture finish is really warm and glowing; however, because the color of the walls is such a deep sage tone, I didn't want a dark, tall headboard. I do love the bed that matches the set, but it would have been too dark and imposing, its size would have really needed the footboard for balance, and that footboard wouldn't have left much room to walk around the foot of the bed. The wood adds about 6 inches to the length of the bed at the ehad and foot, and the room is smaller than what you find in newer homes. We opted for the upholstered headboard only, in a fabric that's close to the lampshade color. Go to the Restoration Hardware website and search for the Parsons headboard in flax if you want to see it.
If we give ourselves a digital camera for Christmas, I'll e-mail a pic of the room to you. My webpage is gone from the FOF website; heaven knows when/if I'll reconstruct it. And I decided to cancel my Messages Plus service from ivillage - it's not worth it for me.
DH and I really had fun at Jordan's Furniture - got lots of other ideas (without the matching bank account, unfortunately!).
