A bit distracted here...

Having an "event" in my own life. Two weeks ago I got my mammogram report back and everything was fine. Yesterday I received a follow-up report. It seems that they compared my new mammo to my baseline (1997) and I now need to have a comprehensive/diagnostic mammogram and possibly a sonogram, if the c/d mammo still raises questions. So, had an appointment with my internal meds doc this morning and she told me not to stress about it (uh-huh) and that any changes require a comprehensive and if that still raises questions, a sonogram. She said the notice she received didn't even flag anything to her. There were some possible changes in the right side near the lymph nodes but there was no sign of cancer or lumps. Doc didn't seem upset by it. So, I have an appointment for the follow-up mammo Thursday the 11th at 2:45. Wish they could have gotten me in sooner, but that was the first available. She also said that our regular mammos are just a screening and it is not unusual for a comprehensive. On the positive side, even stressing about this for a day, my blood pressure was a nice low 120/70. Working out really does make a difference :)

Sassy - Easier to say it than to be living it, but the 11th will be here sooner than you think. I'll be sending positive thoughts southward all week and hoping the c/d shows clearly that there's nothing for you to worry about.

I'm very impressed that your BP didn't spike - your kick-#$$ workouts are certainly paying off in that department.

All the best,

I can understand you being distracted. Even though you feel all is ok, you can't help but be worried.I had to have a sonogram a few years back to rule out some changes. I was worried but everything came back fine.Thinking of you, Sassy.

Yes, it is easy to say 'not to worry' and much harder to do it, isn't it?

I can see why you'd be a bit distracted. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that everything is OK.

No sign of cancer sounds like a good report to me.

Sassy,

Last year when I went to my yearly physical my doctor scheduled my anual mamogram and then when he did my exam he said I'd like you to have a sonogram.

Sassy, sounds it's just a precautionary message, but I know it will be weighing on your mind until you know for sure. That's only natural. I'm overdue for a mammogram and must make an appt. Congratulations on your blood pressure. That's a bright spot.

Positive thoughts are coming your way.

Oooh, been there done that. Not fun. I won't tell you not to worry, but try to keep it to a minimum. Talk to your DH, whoever will listen. Don't hold that stress inside. It's a scary thing even if the doc didn't seem upset by it. Keep working out and stay focused. Easy for me to say, huh?

Good luck with your next mammo. I'm thinking of you.

Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, Sassy! Mammo results can be so . . . what is the word, indiscernible??? (Not to mention, inconclusive - I'll be glad when that technology improves.)
