If and when I put up a tree, it's artificial. I usually decide on a theme or at least a color scheme every year and I try to use some old ornaments with some new stuff for a new look every time. Don't always get there though.

2. Do you have people over for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, go somewhere else, or spend it just with family at home?

Christmas Eve is at the out-laws house. Christmas Day is me and my DH and nobody else. Quiet. Restful. Time spent joyfully together.

3. Have you been humming any particular Christmas song lately -- one you've heard out that's gotten stuck in your head or a favorite?

I keep humming that one that Kirstie Alley is singing in the Pier One commercial... "Santa Baby, slip a sable under the tree, for me...." It's always been one of my favorites. But my favorite of all time is Sleigh Ride.

4. Do you collect any particular kind of Christmas or seasonal decorations?

Nope.

5. Do you have a Christmas speciality you bake or cook every year for Christmas? If so, what?

Nope. Whatever sounds good.

Thanks Rhonda. TGIF!

***We put up a live Blue Spruce. Mine is eclectic like from when I was a kid, but with much nicer ornaments. I still like multicolor lights. This year I am getting an artificial tree for a second one, putting white lights on it, and decorating it with patriotic ornaments. I've started collecting those.

1. If you put up a tree, do you put up a live one or artificial? How do you decorate it (a theme, eclectic, etc.)?

Live tree all the way. Small colored lights (no blinking). I have handmade ornaments, antique glass ornaments, new glass ornaments. No real theme.

2. Do you have people over for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, go somewhere else, or spend it just with family at home?

Usually go out to eat Christmas Eve and then to church. I make up a batch or two of Cinnamon buns (make the night before so they can rise and bake them first thing when we get up). Sometimes my folks are here Christmas Eve, sometimes not. We stay in town so that we can go to sleep Christmas Eve in our own beds and wake up Christmas morning in our own house. After we do our present free-for-all, we shower and head to the out-laws where my sister-in-law and family are staying, too and do Christmas with them and a Christmas brunch. Then we head back to our house to clean up our mess and leisurely go thru our loot, etc.

3. Have you been humming any particular Christmas song lately -- one you've heard out that's gotten stuck in your head or a favorite?

Light of the Stable sung by Selah.

4. Do you collect any particular kind of Christmas or seasonal decorations? Not really.

5. Do you have a Christmas speciality you bake or cook every year for Christmas? If so, what?

A yummy mix of crispix cereal, small pretzels and pecans mixed with butter, honey, brown sugar and vanilla. Yummy!

Sassy

Always a live tree-just love picking up those needles in July! Ornaments are ones that we've purchased or given to us over the years including ones that I've purchased for each one of the kids over the years depending on what they were involved in that year and of course the ones that the kids made as they were growing up

2. Do you have people over for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, go somewhere else, or spend it just with family at home?

Christmas Eve was always spent at the inlaws and then we would alternate staying home and going to my sisters on Christmas Day. Not sure how this year will work.

3. Have you been humming any particular Christmas song lately -- one you've heard out that's gotten stuck in your head or a favorite?

I love my Windam Hill CD's-soft instrumental Christmas music

4. Do you collect any particular kind of Christmas or seasonal decorations?

Over the past few years I've collected a vast array of snowmen

5. Do you have a Christmas speciality you bake or cook every year for Christmas? If so, what?

I always make Spritz and Chocolate Crinkles-those are musts for the Christmas season and then I always try a new recipie or two.

I used to put up a live tree but about 10 years ago we realized most of the trees we were buying each year were very dry and a true fire hazzard we decided to purchase an artificial tree.

1) Artificial. The house is too dry for a real tree to hold up into January. Decorations are definitely eclectic.

2) We're the roadies in the family on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Having no kids and being healthy and willing to drive at all hours makes it easy for us to travel and visit with everyone.

3) My favorite fun song is "Little Saint Nick, secular song is "The Christmas Song", and religious song is "Oh, Holy Night". The three are now looping through my head constantly.

4) No.

5) No specialty. If I make anything, it's an antipasto that just requires patience, a little bit of artistry, a good cheese knife, and no cooking.

Don't feel bad about using a live tree. It's actually very good for the environment and the economy. The trees provide jobs for the tree farmers, the cutters, the companies who schedule the loads, the truckers, and tree stand salespeople. The trees are grown specifically for that purpose, so they're not only providing oxygen and helping block noise, etc., but are not depleting forests. In our area, the Boy Scouts or other organizations get them to recycle. Some are used to help prevent erosion along the beaches and others are ground up to

We have the same favorite Christmas songs, although now Lori has replaced the one running through my head with "Santa Baby."
